Looking for some ideas on what I need to improve on. No band-aid tips please, I'm a quick learner and looking to learn the right way. I did a little self critique myself just to get used to the Swing Academy tools so that I can track my progress.

I'm not very good at all, but based off the videos I've watched, I believe you are taking the club well past parallel which will greatly compromise the distance. Don't take is so far back, and keep your left arm away from your body, so that you come through the ball stronger.

You seem to let the club get behind you and you come over the top. Do you pull and slice a bit? I would say a shorter backswing and trying to take the club straight back in the take away would help you make better contact and be able to be more agressive through the ball.

If you look at your club plane on the backswing and the downswing, you'll see that you are steeper on the downswing. It looks like you're redirecting the club, instead of letting it fall back on plane. I would try to take the club back on a higher plane, and then come in from inside more.

The other thing I see is your head dropping quite a bit on the backswing, which can force you to stand up and come out of the shot before impact. Try to keep it level.

Appearently softconsult did not like my setup comment for you. I know we can't all swing like Tiger but take a look at his address here:

If you make similar lines on his driver swing I think you can make your own decision about setup.

Just looked at your own analysis. Pretty good! I guess you know what you need to work on. Just need to work on it. Since I've had some of these issues, especially the head drop, here's what's helped me.

1. You can only try to fix one thing at a time. For instance, if you work on keeping your head level, just focus on that. Don't worry about outcome for a while, because your brain can only handle one change at a time. 2. For keeping your head level. Have a friend stand in front of you and keep a club level on top of your head. Try to maintain contact with the club throughout the swing. Focus on keeping your spine angle steady. 3. For the looping issue, I would try to focus on keeping your hands in front of your chest through the swing. You'll notice that bring you on to a steeper plane - and then letting them fall in front of your body on the way down. I wouldn't try this until I got my head and spine angle steady though. Good luck!

you are swing with mostly your arms. if you watch your hip there is very little turn, you need to work on syncronizing your hip and shoulders turn together.

A drill you can practice is swing with your feet together and even try hitting ball with your feet together.

Actually you don't need much hip turn in your golf swing. It's called swinging against your lower body. Nick Price used that as do I. Just make sure you get good shoulder rotation.

don't bend your left arm. you should be trying to keep it straight but doesn't have to be locked straight. its much easier to return to impact just as you are at setup when you have one less thing to worry about.

What he said

1) plus it seems you come slightly over the top at the start of the downswing - Use lower body to drop club back down. You should feel like you are simply letting gravity drop the club back down.
2) and you seem to "come out" of your shot a bit through impact - Stay down by concentrating on a steady head through imact and keep turning!

Keep your arms extended, you let them collapse 1/2 way into your backswing.

Your really doing one thing wrong and its causing a chain reaction and pretty much f ing up your whole swing.... On the video look at your butt before you swing... aight now there is a tree in the same line as your butt.... use this as a reference to see where your butt goes aight you still with me here.... now play the video and on the downswing and through impact watch how much your mid section moves CLOSER to the ball.... this isnt easy to fix but the first thing you need to consentrate on is almost like pulling your left hip behind you its not really possible so dont try it but that should be your main swing thought at this point and you will see an improvement in your swing right away.....

Several teachers talk about allowing a soft or bent left arm in the backswing, but I personally think you are more than just soft -- you left arm looks bent too much at the top. Most prefer a little straighter left arm. I want as much extension as I can get. When you bend the elbow as much as you do, it allows you to take the club too far back and well behind you, so you have to compensate with a few moves to get back to the ball. The initial move that may cause this is the off plane take-away mentioned by others. You are not bad at all at three o'clock, but then go below plane (grip points well above ball) and the arm looks like it collapses too much.

Work on extension and keeping the club more in front of your chest, and the gap from hands to club further away from your head at the top. It is hard to say this without a face on view, but this is my take and just some things to try, nothing more.
