I think a part of my consistency issues is my left wrist. When I look at good players at the top of their backswing I see that they're lead wrist is perfectly straight and at impact the straightened wrist delofts the club some.

I don't think I ever get my wrist straight.

Example..

and at impact

and here's me at impact. Granted this is a 60% wedge or so as it was my first swings in a couple years over christmas but I notice my left wrist is not straight at all (and my right hand is too strong but that's a story for another day)

Anyways.. what drills can I work on to straighten my wrist and get in the correct position at the top?? I want to work into it slowly, when I've tried it at the range it looks like I've never hit a golfball in my life, it's awful so I give up and go back to what I've done for years

To fix the straight left arm for me (i.e. de-lofting the club at impact), I've worked on making sure I get to my left side by sliding my hips forward just about as far as they can go.

You're showing a wedge versus Tiger's driver swing, but look at the reverse K he's got going. His head's stayed back, but his hips and thus arms are well ahead, leading.

I'm not sure I'd work on that thing with a wedge. My instructor has me hitting short (40-100-yard) 7-irons focusing on getting to my left side and finishing very tall, with a fairly straight right leg, foot on its toe, etc.

How my teacher explained the process to me is kind of "bracing for impact" Tigers impact position is a perfect example of that. The general belief is to turn through the ball like its not there, but i belive that can lead to pulling too much with your left side, making some players to try and save it with a flip of the right wrist. If you let the club swing back and through and hit and hold on your left leg - then relese your hips after the ball is gone, the arms just follow naturally. Flattning my wrist isnt something i think about very often.

Found this youtube video. I think I'll just video what I have at the range and see where I am at impact and not worry about the top as much just yet

    • Taking your dispersion and distance in consideration I analyzed the 4 posible ways to play the hole, or at least the ones that were listed here. I took the brown grass on the left as fescue were you need to punch out sideways to the fairway and rigth of the car path to be fescue too.  Driver "going for the green"  You have to aim more rigth, to the bunker in order to center your shotzone in between the fescue.  Wood of 240 over the bunkers I already like this one more for you. More room to land between the fescue. Balls in the fescue 11% down from 30% with driver. Improve of score from 4.55 to 4.40. 4 iron 210 yards besides the bunkers.    Also a wide area and your shot zone is better than previous ones. This makes almost the fescue dissapear. You really need to hit a bad one (sometimes shit happens). Because of that and only having 120 yards in this is the best choice so far. Down to 4.32 from 4.40. Finally the 6 Iron 180 yards to avoid all trouble.    Wide area an narrow dispersion for almost been in the fairway all the time. Similar than the previous one but 25 yards farther for the hole to avoid been in the bunkers. Average remains the same, 4.33 to 4.32.  Conclusion is easy. Either your 4iron or 6 iron of the tee are equaly good for you. Glad that you made par!
