Hi guys, I recently bought a used 690mb x100 set from 3balls.com on ebay. When the clubs came, it has fake golf pride grips on it with disgusting odor. After doing some research, I found out that smell is because of recycled rubber. And the shaft is not x-100 either, there are the spots that old stickers were removed. The x100 label was place on different spot, but hit couple of shots, I am sure that just ~s300. So I email 3balls right away, told them my problem, they didn't even reply. I have now emailed them about 3 times, still no answer. I know they are just middle man, they probably didn't even know they are selling fakes. I now know that I made a big mistake to buy from 3balls, they just resale stuff for money. They don't care the product they resales. Ignoring customer when there's problem. Anyway, the club condition is bad too, ppl only trade in the club when that's in a bad condition. Otherwise they will resale on their own. The set will probably sit in my garage forever. Money well spend. Thx 3balls gave me worst experience on ebay. Any comment is appreciated.

If you used a credit card for the purchase. File a claim with your credit card company and try to have them resolve the issue.

I used paypal balance, and already left the good feedback.

Give feedback AFTER you get the product.

I bought some Precept Laddie X balls from 3 balls and had no problems. Sorry your "used" clubs were so used. Good luck.

Normally I would feel sorry for someone in this situation, but why on earth would you leave positive feedback before receiving the item? I wouldn't even leave positive feedback for Jesus until I received his item.

Just letting you know whenever you use Paypal use your CC in conjunction with it. Your CC is much easier to deal with than Paypal.

PayPal protection means nothing... I got scammed on there once selling a $150 gift card and received payment and they redeemed it online and issued a claim saying they did not authorize the payment so I emailed and called PayPal and showed them all the messages and emails and proof etc and they still sided with him and I was out $150

I agree with the above.

eBay and PayPal are crap and only care about making as much money as possible.

I sold an item on eBay, received the funds through PayPal and posted the item. 3 weeks alter I got an email from eBay apparently the account of the person who had bought my item had been hijacked, but don't worry eBay will refund my listing and final value fee. Unfortunately this didn't help as I had sold the item, so I emailed and told eBay. After many emails I got nowhere, and ended up not having the payment or the item. All eBay and PayPal did was tell me to go to the police and not to file for an unpaid item.

This pissed me off because of all the people to blame I was bottom of the list.

1, The hijacker who committed the fraud should be the one who pays, but obviously this won't happen.
2, The person who got hijacked shouldn't have typed their password on a phishing email.
3, eBay should have detected different IP addresses, and spending patterns being used by the account.
4, I guess I shouldn't have followed the rules and believed the eBay and PayPal seller protection policy. If I had taken the money personally and completed the transaction outside of eBay this wouldn't have happened!

Anyway as you can see bit of a rant as I wasn't happy, but the moral of the story is don't bother with eBay and PayPal, and if you really have to, use a credit card which offers you protection.

I've heard some bad things about 3balls.com, I have bid on some of there items and if you look at the bid history, there are a lot of bids by accounts that have not bought much on ebay. I read on another forum that they use these accounts to drive the price up on their items.

LMAO. My thoughts exactly. I won't leave feedback until I receive something and test it for a few days.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

They should get shut down for doing that because my friend did that once and his account was temporarily locked and received threatening messages from eBay that if it happened again he could face charges lol

But then again they sell so much that eBay probably makes a fortune off of them and just "overlooks" it

Fille a dispute with PayPal and select fake/fraud on the reason for dispute. Chances are good you will get your money back but you will have to ship the item back at your own expense. PayPal is usually on the side of the buyer vs the seller.

I wish that was true in my experiences; its been the complete opposite.

I just want to say that I have bought over $1,500 worth of gear from them and have been happy with every purchase. You do realize that you can contact them via phone number, e-mail, snail mail, etc through their website?

Nothing compares to doing business with the brick and mortar stores...nothing.

I've used ebay in the past....but always felt "lucky" when the transaction went smoothly.

Sorry to hear about you folly. As you now know.....the feedback is a crucial part of this deal. Hold back until you get what you paid for.

I've also had good luck in the past buying a used club from 3balls Golf. In fact I just bought a new hybrid from them off of ebay. Hopefully everything will go well. My expectations regarding used equipment, especially off of ebay, bought sight unseen are pretty low. In other words it's not something that I'm going to invest a lot of money in without being able to have some kind of formal recourse to follow if the items don't meet to my satisfaction. The hybrid I just bought I got for $50. While I certainly don't consider that throw away money, it's not so much to where I'll be really upset if the club isn't what I hope it to be. That to me is always the risk you run when you deal in used equipment from the internet. As the cost for used equipment gets closer to what you could get from a retail store on sale or on a close out special I tend to favor retail outlets over online retailers or auctions.

Man, this is really surprising to me. I have bought several things from 3balls with no problems at all (although I think I bought direct from their website, not through ebay). That's one of the places I usually recommend if someone is looking for used clubs. I haven't bought anything from them in a while, so maybe they have recently taken a turn for the worse. I don't know...weird. Hope it works out for you.

I have also bought from 3balls and have had good luck with them every time. I actually live 10 minutes away from the course/pro shop that is their sister business and they are pretty good guys. My guess is that if you gave them a call you would get some type of resolution for sure. I will mention this next time I am over there as I have given them feedback I have come across before and they seem to appreciate it.

The one I do play whenever I visit there is Ross Bridge; something about this course that is just good fun. I hope to play more of the courses in the future, but tomorrow is promised to no one, so hope is the key word. Have Fun, iSank

I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
