When was the last time you played a new course? What was the name and location of the course? Did you enjoy it?

Friday May 1st I played Del Monte for the first time. I totally enjoyed it. It was a 4 man best ball scramble (which is how they describe it). My team shot -3 in the wind and rain!

I played King and Bear at World Golf Village yesterday and the Stadium Course at Sawgrass today.

I enjoyed both and definitely could have scored better if I had a chance to play them each again.

I threw my clubs into the lake so it's time to start over...

I played King and Bear at World Golf Village yesterday and the Stadium Course at Sawgrass today.

Now that's a good two days of golf! Thinking about taking a 4-some up later this summer and doing the same thing. How did you like the two courses at the WGV? Are they worth the $'s?

Played TPC Scottsdale Champions and Stadium course 2 weekends ago. Absolutely phenomenal. I was surprised to learn that the Champions course was a lot more difficult and more narrow than the Stadium. Overshot the par 3 16th at the Stadium course (the one with the gallery at the FBR open), but scrambled to save par.

Woodlawn Country Club in Farmer City, IL. A 9 hole course with two sets of tees, tight fairways, 6000 yards from the "tips" and small greens. It was private when I was a kid, so I never played it. These days you can pay a greens fee at most times to play it. I enjoyed playing the course the last two Saturdays and shot a 91 and a 90. Even better, both rounds took less than three hours to play.

There are a few other 9 holers around that are now semi-private and cheap to play. I'll probably try out a few of those this year too.

When I said 'NEW" I ment a course you had not previously played before. I finally played Tullymore in Stanwood, MI (#15 on Golf Digest America's 100 Greatest Public Courses) and had a wonderful day of golf. Scored good also.

I have not played any new courses yet this year, but will be playing at least 2 new courses Memorial Day Weekend. I'll be playing Glade Spring Resort Cobb Course and probably another one in the area. I played the Glade Springs Stonehaven Course last year and really enjoyed it. They are in the mountains of WV.

I try to play at least a few new courses every year, but because I've played almost all of the local courses I now have to travel to find new ones. Columbus, OH and Lexington, KY are both close enough for me to drive to and play new courses in a day though.

Two new courses recently...from one extreme to the other.
Whispering Pines in Pinckney, MI is a muni. Well-kept and extremely well priced ($30 for 18 w/ cart on weekend). Course is pretty tough. Not long, but very sloped. Played once last year for the first time and once this season,,,shot over 100 both times
Also played Oak Pointe (private cc) for first time last year. Was a guest of business associate. Going again next week. They have 2 courses (Champions and Honors). Played the Champions last year (long, but not especially difficult although I didn't play all that well). Hoping to play the Honors this time...have heard horror stories about it's difficulty.

Two new courses recently...from one extreme to the other.

I live about 10 minutes from each of those. My girlfriends grandparents live in Oak Pointe and we get to play there all the time.

Most recent new course I played was two weekends ago at Ironwood GC in Howell Michigan. Shot a 90. Tight fairways and very small greens. Nice course and will go back again.
