I have found an area to hit off of grass in the area of NYC/Westchester/CT. And I have been using this area for a while, however, shagging my own balls 240+ yards is a bit of a drag.

Does anyone know of a grass Tee range in the downstate area? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, a lot of pressure. Rise above it. Harness in the good energy, block out the bad. Harness energy, block bad.

I believe Randalls Island has grass as an option.

I've never seen one in the immediate area. I know there are a few golf courses into long island that have grass ranges.

Randall's Island used to have one when it was under Korean management, but it was more like rough than grass. I don't know about now. Centennial Golf in Westchester has grass, but a bucket is about $20 and that was a couple of years ago - it's probably $25 now. I called Harbour Links and they have a Tuesday night 8-10pm $30 grass night (no doobies, unfortunately, ha ha), but I never went. Long Island National said on weekends, but I haven't checked.

My favorite place to go, though far from the city is Neshanic GC. Charleston Springs, also in NJ, has grass.

NYC is nothing like the midwest, south atlantic or the south. Any good place to practice takes a long time to get to and is expensive.

I sure do feel sorry for ya'll up north. I live in SC and have never had to hit off mats in my life at the range. Is it really that hard to find grass ranges up north?

Thanks for the sympathy. We northerners love to come down and dig up the grass in your area. Ha ha.

    • I do not follow amateur or Korn Ferry tour but this story might get me to pay attention. At age 15 to be as accomplished as he is makes me think we may be seeing a future star.  A story of him breaking out may help reinvigorate golf viewership. • Day 8: Indoor backswing work, mostly rehearsals of takeaway. Hit some balls wtih 6-iron working on adding flow, but not too Much which I tend to do, swaying too far away from target.
    • Day 55: 4/18/2024 Got to the range again today. Planned to do my priority pieces and then hit targets with irons. But after my priority pieces I hit a few drives and tugged them all hard left. .... Uh... oh boy.  So, I spent about a half hour trying to hit targets at the range with my driver.

    • OPPs, I guess I have been doing the drill incorrectly, just ignore this.  But as they say, mistakes are learning opportunities. Let’s hope I can learn from mine.
