Stop trying. If you're keeping the clubface open through impact, chances are that your left hand grip pressure is too tight. You're fighting the natural release of the club. Trying to manipulate the clubface creates all sorts of bad things.

Here's a good drill...
Hold the club with just your thumbs and forefingers- you can squeeze as tight as you want, but this removes your foreams from your swing. First thing you'll notice is that you have to use your shoulders to initiate a backswing. You'll feel the club set itself at the top and release at the bottom too. Just swinging back and through from hip to hip, you'll be able to see the club square itself through impact and release. Try it with full swings too. This is how your swing should feel. You can even hit balls this way too, but I recommend putting them on a tee. My all time favorite swing drill!
