Pushing Wedge Approaches

I'm having a recurring miss where with a full wedge shot to the green, I'll carry the right distance with my approach but leave it well left of the target. What could I be doing to cause this, and what are some things I can do to stop it?

In my UnderArmour Links stand bag...

- Check alignment to target
- Check to ensure that you are truly aligned to the target by lining up the ball with a proximal intermediate target (divot, leaf, blade of grass, or discoloration in the fairway)
- Keep the ball in the middle of your stance, if the ball is too far back you're going to catch it as the face is open and it’s going to go left most of the time.
- Keep your right shoulder square through impact (i.e., don’t let it fly open during the swing)

For me, the push with any club, is usually the result of getting lazy with my lower body. 9 out of 10 times I leave the ball out right, my belt buckle finishes aimed there too. Try make sure you're making a full hip rotation through.

Personally, unless I'm trying to manipulate ball flight, I don't mess around much with ball position in my stance- I play everythng about a ball inside the left heel. The bottom of my swing is in the same place regardless of what club I have in my hand ( driver being the exception). YMMV.
