So i'm looking at used sets on some local sites (craigslists/usedvictoria)
anyways the stuff in my price range includes
Taylor made burners OS + for 100 canadian
callaways x16 pro series for 200ish
ping i3s for 300ish
Yeah i know they wont be properly fit but i just need something to practice with for the moment. i have a friend who can help me learn and adjust angles if it is really needed.
I have hit my friends OS burners and thought they felt really nice.
My swing has gotten really messed up and i'm taking a break hoping muscle memory will get me back to where i was but ill prob need to go for some lessons to fix it.
Any input you guys can make will be appreciated
thanks
And yeah i would buy something from rockbottomgolf like IDEA A2s or A3s or something along those lines but i live in canada and shipping across the border is 100+ after taxes and fees and stuff and i'm not too into paying that.

My Clubs:
Ping I3 + blade 3-pw
9.5 09 Burner with prolaunch red
Nickent 4dx driver
Taylormade Z tp 52, 56, 60
YES Carolyne putter

So i'm looking at used sets on some local sites (craigslists/usedvictoria)

Have you looked at Hirekogolf.com? The Acer XK has been rated a best value in golf. A full set will run about $200 US. I don't know what that would equal after fee's, but they can customize the shaft and lie angles (they charge extra for upgrades) but they would also be a new set, instead of new to you. something to think about.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

Yeah i dunno bout buying in the states
its like 55+ shipping + 13% taxes + 40-100 in duties depending on stuff.
I have a driver and 3 cleveland wedges (i've played a lot of pitch and putt in the last couple years)
i just need irons... i've been hitting regular flex CGB racs and its messing up my swing ... I hit TA3s last summer i hit burners for like a month so i just want something that is MINE with stiff shafts. Mainly the thing is stiff shafts.

My Clubs:
Ping I3 + blade 3-pw
9.5 09 Burner with prolaunch red
Nickent 4dx driver
Taylormade Z tp 52, 56, 60

Adams Golf wide soles irons are really great for begginers.
A couple of days ago I played with a game improvment irons called GO. They were great. Try to find them at any local store because I cannot seem to find them anywhere on the internet.
My achievements:
Eagles: 0
Birdies: 18
Best Round: 89

I say go to Callaway Preowned (website) and get a good set of clubs in "like new" condition. That is what I did. The Big Berthas are very forgiving. I love them. Mine are 1994 golds. There are several models of Big Bertha irons. I just got a driver from the same website. Looked brand new. Still had stickers on it. Can't beat the Callaway Preowned site in my opinion.

Seems like you like the OS Burners, so I would go with them. They are good clubs, and you already have a rapport with them.

3 Wood 906 F4 w/ Aldila Proto "By You"
Irons: MP 30 w/ Rifle 5.5 Wedges Oil Can 50*, Vokey SM 54* and 58*Putter: C-06

well its just what is availiable for cheap to me right now
if i lived in the states i'd buy something off rockbottom golf and go from there but thats not really worth it for me.
I'd rather buy something cheap now put the rest to lessons from my friends (instructors) to keep them happy and make a trip to seattle and buy something in the future.
Why buy great new irons when my swing blows, and you cat really go wrong when yuo're hitting a shovel the size of my hand lol.
ya know?

My Clubs:
Ping I3 + blade 3-pw
9.5 09 Burner with prolaunch red
Nickent 4dx driver
Taylormade Z tp 52, 56, 60

I don't know what the plans are for our group on Friday but even if we don't make it for dinner with the rest of the Friday arrivals, I'll be more than happy to meet up somewhere for a beer or something.
    • Taking your dispersion and distance in consideration I analyzed the 4 posible ways to play the hole, or at least the ones that were listed here. I took the brown grass on the left as fescue were you need to punch out sideways to the fairway and rigth of the car path to be fescue too.  Driver "going for the green"  You have to aim more rigth, to the bunker in order to center your shotzone in between the fescue.  Wood of 240 over the bunkers I already like this one more for you. More room to land between the fescue. Balls in the fescue 11% down from 30% with driver. Improve of score from 4.55 to 4.40. 4 iron 210 yards besides the bunkers.    Also a wide area and your shot zone is better than previous ones. This makes almost the fescue dissapear. You really need to hit a bad one (sometimes shit happens). Because of that and only having 120 yards in this is the best choice so far. Down to 4.32 from 4.40. Finally the 6 Iron 180 yards to avoid all trouble.    Wide area an narrow dispersion for almost been in the fairway all the time. Similar than the previous one but 25 yards farther for the hole to avoid been in the bunkers. Average remains the same, 4.33 to 4.32.  Conclusion is easy. Either your 4iron or 6 iron of the tee are equaly good for you. Glad that you made par!
