The course I usually play is 6500 as well. That is a pretty good yardage. I could back up to the golds and not make a whole lot of difference in score really, but the blues are our norm.

Depending on terrain... anything up to 7000 yards if it's fairly flat. 6700 if it's hilly. Kind of ironic though because Spyglass is one of my favorite tracks and it's just shy of 7K with some serious elevation changes.

6000-6300 is about my range

The Orange Course at the University of Illinois is a little over 6600 yards from the white tees. That is the longest course I've ever played.

I comfortable around 6000-6200 yards. I don't really feel comfortable going more than that. But, I will definitely have to later on in my game.

How can that be what your comfortable with when you hit the ball 300 yards?

6300-6500 is where I have felt the best, but latly I've been biting off a little of the 6800 yards at one course. That has made me think the game much more as the fairways bunkers my ball waved at while flying over, well those are good landing area's from the back tee's so shorter club's off the tee or making a better attempt at working the ball more left or right off the tee. Makes the game even more of a challenge, as if it was easy before

And with no eagles on par fives to boot. Average hold length of The old rule is 5-iron yardage x 36. Personally, 6700 is about perfect. Played one just over 7000 the other day and appreciated the challenge. Longest club I hit into a par four was a 6-iron (on the 18th, 480 yards, from about 185).

up here in new england, anything over 6700-6800 is pretty long due to the terrain, weather and general softness of the courses. down south, I've played courses that were in the 7000 range and they did not seem that long. 7000 in new england, hell no.

Considering that we get tons of roll out here in West Texas, I prefer courses that run around 6800-7000.

Anything below that and I get sick of hitting Driver-Wedge every hole.

If I played somewhere that had softer fairways and less roll out on drives...I'd probably prefer it shorter in the range of 6600-6800.

I like to stay around 6300yds. I have played a few times at 7000yds and I was surprised that the added lenght didn't seem to be much of a problem? But that being said I think where my game is at I should max out at 6300 until I can consistantly shoot in (or break) the low 80's.
