Does anybody have any personal experience with a set of 755s?

I have the opportunity to get a great deal on a 2 year old set of these that have just been sitting in a closet.

I have never hit any of these so I was wanting to get some opinions on them before I asked them to bring them back for me to look at.

Thanks in advance.

I've never hit them but I did notice that Steve Stricker was playing them Sunday when he won The Colonial.

I like the looks of them and thought about a set when they first came out. They're more a players club than a game improvement club but they should be a touch more forgiving than pure musclebacks! I would definitely ask the seller if you can hit a few if it is possible.

I'm going to take them out for a round tomorrow to make sure I like them, but I hit another set of DCIs today and loved them. I can't wait to try them out tomorrow.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I owned a set with Tri-spec shafts. They felt great at on the range prior to purchase but turned out to be terrible for my swing. Balloon central with those shafts! Plus the 755's are made with 410 Stainless Steel instead of a mild carbon steel which, IMO, gave them a much harsher feel then your typical forged club.

Ive never played a round with them, but i have hit them on a range alot. They have a little more offset than a typical titleist players iron, and have a little bit more of a harsher feel. They do launch the ball, though. If thats what youre looking for.

Well, I'm going to go pick them up around 230 or so and head to the course at 3 and see what I think of them.

As far as price goes, we decided on 200. They are in almost perfect condition. I'll write an update whenever I get back this afternoon.

I've used 755 with trispec shafts for almost 2 years. I agree with most replies. Its trajectory is a relatively high and sometimes I balloon. And yeah, the feel is harsher compared to other titleist irons. But what you get is durability I guess. Frankly, I feel like I should have bought one with dg shafts instead or picked 735 instead...my 2 cents.

DCI 962's are one of my favorite sets of all time. I played the same set for 9 straight years. I also enjoyed the 762's. which set of DCI's were you hitting?

Well...we have rain rain rain here in the south.

I'm not sure which ones they were, but I'm almost positive they were 962. He has played them since his 8th grade year and hes a senior in college now. The guy I'm buying the 755's from played one year in college before he decided to hang it up.

Does anyone have any idea why they discontinued the 755s?

It was an older model.

Anyway, the trispecs are higher than most shafts, but I've never got any ballooning. I love my 755's and would just never give them up.

Those I hit were the DCI 981 and I loved them. Are they in any way similar?

For that price, you could use them and sell them if you don't like them and not loose much.

As for why discontinued, that is just what manufactures do to keep people buying new clubs.

A great looking club though.

Well, I went and hit the irons this morning and loved them. I'm sure I have a ways to go before I get used to them, but overall I felt like I hit them very smooth and solid.

I kept hitting the ball towards the bottom of the club face but not quite blading them. I'm sure I can fix that with time.

Thanks for all the input on the clubs. I ended up getting a great deal and I'm sure I will be very happy with these irons.
