Within about 15-20 minutes of the I-275 loop of Cincinnati we have about 50 courses (about 25 or so actually inside the loop) and within about a 1 hour drive we have close to 100 courses (includes Lexington, KY and Dayton, OH). We are pretty lucky in this area to have so many good courses. I play around 25+ courses a year in the area.

There are something like 80 in the Greater Denver area, extending from Ft. Collins to Castle Rock and the front range.

But of those, there are maybe 20-30 that are real championship courses. There's a good nubmer of executive and dinky municipals. They're nice to have for a cheap, quick circle.

Driver: 905S 8* - Graffaloy Blue 65S Shaft (tipped 1" Short)

Unfortunately thats about all we have around here. 1 is the country club, the other 2 are public. They are decent tracks but nothing special by any means.

There are many courses that I have access to but most of them that I cannot afford. If I want to play 3-4 times a week, I can only do it by playing twilight at my local municipal courses. Once in awhile I treat myself to a nice round.

I once pulled out the Palm Springs, California, Yellow Pages, and counted about 70 golf courses in the Coachella Valley. We have 8 courses in our near area (inside 18 miles), two of which could host professional tournaments (and have) and be considered very good. The have received very high ratings in the press. A third has hosted qualifying tournaments.

The Coachella Valley has 125+ courses within a 20 minute drive and there are approximately 15 courses within a 5 mile radius of my home. Here is an excerpt from a PS vacation guide:

"Palm Springs California is world famous as one of the most popular golf resort destinations in the USA! In fact, the Palm Springs & Palm Desert Resorts area is often referred to as the "golf capital of the world," with more than 125 Palm Springs area golf courses, great weather and natural beauty adding to the area's popularity as a top golf & vacation location."

About 5 miles from my house, there is a country club where I don't play. There are probably two course within 20 miles of me, but that is 20 or so miles of winding, climbing, back-switching mountains. I live in the mountains of the coal bucket, and most of the courses here are 9-holes, but affordable. I can cross in to West Virginia and walk Black Wolf Links (which is absolutely the only thing you will find on this road) twice (18 hole total) for $10.

Here is a quick, off-topic question - Are the club lists in signatures just an image code?
