I finally committed and ordered a 33" Scotty Cameron Newport 2 with the plumbers neck. I'm expecting my putting confidence to return within 3-5 business days. For Cameron owners, I placed the order through a pro shop. What should I expect along with drastically improved putting results ? I think it comes with a headcover. Does it come with anything else, like an "I'm badass because I play a Scotty" bumper sticker? Are there any exclusive memberships included or any other gizmos? What about paperwork?

Well, I love the feel of my Scotty Cameron, but I three-putted five times today.

It's reassuring though to know you have a good feeling, and expensive putter.

Have fun with it, you should like it. I think it's similar to the one I have!

Cover and divot tool. Nice putter to have. Mine actually did improve my putting by a fair margine. but I think that was becuase I didn't want to look like tool who buys a cameron, but still couldn't putt, so I practice way more now.

You will not get a divot tool that stopped with the studio style , silver head cover is included first thing to do is get rid of the cord no cord grip and put a baby T on it much better grip imo , 33 incher means you get 20 gram weights if you want lighter ones which I did you have to send it to scotty to have them replaced , very stupid again imo, just remove the old ones first or you wont get them back.

I bought the studio select 1.5 34 with 15 gram weights and I'm very happy with it , I also own a scotty santa fe oil can and like that better because there is almost no glare compared to the stainless ones, I also have a circa 62 which is a great fast green putter just a tad lighter then the santa fe.

Enjoy it and don't let the cameron bashers get to you, scotty must be doing something right as Tiger wont let his go quite yet. :)

Nice I got my first scotty yesterday

along with my new irons & 3-wood. i got mine straight out of the pro-shop, but i got the other clubs ordered & fitted, i didn't get any stickers or pitch repairers . I got the No. 3 Circa '62, had a put with it on the putting green when i first got it and i didnt want to stop, except that it was freezing (probaly like 6*C, cold for me ). I am defiantly going to have a game with my new clubs tomorrow. Putting confidence is up and i havn't even played a game with it yet Putting confidence only costs you $419.

haha, congrats, hope you enjoy it. I mean, I spent a good amount of money on my putter so I can't blame you. Hope you love it.

I have been recently eying those nike unitized which are pretty similar to those newports, at least it's the same grade metal and cheap. I just can't justify buying a new putter right now though as my current one treats me well. Guess I gotta wait on trying a milled one out.

It wasn't that much. My pro shop discounted it $20 and I applied a $75 gift card for a net of $205. I paid $150 for my current putter and you can now buy it on ebay for $30 bucks or so. The Cameron feels and performs at least $55 better. Plus, I like the idea that it wasn't outsourced to China to reduce manufacturing costs to pad some executives wallet. I'll probably use my old headcover to reduce the chances of having it swiped while using the john at the course. I'm definitely not of the mind to care whether people think I'm a poser or not. Particularly because I didn't buy the putter for irrational reasons.

Comes with a little dent in your bank account and a nasty little comment from your playing partners when you miss a putt with your new putter.

Here's my thoughts on it: personally, I think it helps. The ball comes off the face much better than my old Rossa; less skidding/etc. which means the ball will hold the line better. I'm not a pro, but I can sure as heck tell a big difference in how the ball rolls. Now will it make you a "better putter"? Well, that's going to depend on your green reading ability and speed of course more than anything but my answer would be yes...it some cases.

Now myself, I'm mid-40's, married but no kids and I have disposable income. To me it was no big deal...I buy what I want (although technically it was a birthday gift from my wife...but I told her what I wanted). If I can't get the things in life that I want...then what's the point in working? So congrats if you got what you wanted. And pay no attention to what knuckleheads say if you 3 jack every green with it (which I hope you don't).

Isnt ball skidding on a putt just a matter of the the clubface angle? The guy on golf fix one time said to push your hands forward when putting to either hit it square or even put slight top spin on the ball and it will hold its line better.

Very well may be...I'm not going to say Mr. Breed is wrong (I love that guy and the show), but I can only report from first hand experience. I didn't change my putting stroke and I could notice a big difference on how the ball rolled and felt off the putter. Imagination? Who knows...but whatever works.
