Another notch for the Bridgestone E6. I've been playing it all year and have loved it. The E5 goes too high for my swing as I don't have any problems getting the ball up in the air.

Titleist NXT Extreme, one of the farthest balls out there, and has less spin which a beginner does not want.

I'm not sure exactly what we're classifying as mid and mid-high handicappers (I'm guessing like 16+), but I'll say the Top Flite D2 Feel. $1/ball, probably best two piece ball I've used other than the E5-which is over twice as expensive. D2 Feel is long, doesn't spin too much off the driver, but checks up nicely around the greens and feels great off the putter.

Recycled pro-line golf balls are a good bargain. Just stay away from the ones that have been repainted.

Recycled = Used balls that have been cleaned
Refinished = Used balls that have been re-coated

I have no personal experience, but from what I've read, you should stay away from refinished balls.

There are lots of good balls in the $20 range. I just ordered 100 Bridgestone E6+ at $12 a dozen, near mint condition from golfballnut.com

Best I have hit so far is Wilson DX-2 soft. It has the best combination of straightness, distance and green side control as well. If I am on a bad day I will stay with MaxFli Revolution low compression balls.

My golf buddy at 18-cap stays with Bridgestone e6+ and he never wants to change.

This is the ball I played for 2006-08. Then I got a free ball-fitting when I bought my driver, and D2 Feel was at bottom for distance. So, I switched to RDS Tour. But RDS Tour is discontinued, so I'm about four sleeves away from switching to TopFlite Gamer.

Latest on D2 Feel: Talked to a couple of people who still play it, and they say this year's version is a little livelier than earlier ones. Always great around the greens, just that earlier ones a little short on distance.

Any other performance reports on modern D2 Feel?
