Well, I went to Golftec the other day, I actually had a free eval session coupon I got from spending too much money at Golfsmith.

Anyways, check out my swing.

Things I was doing wrong:

1.) on take-away, bringing the club way too much inside.
2.) Casting the club, not keeping the 90* angle long enough on downswing.

Can you please send me some of that hair growth treatment that you used in between the videos? The difference is amazing!

lol I'm not bald, just I guess i'm thinning up top! really comes on the the pics with me head down like that. Tiger has more hair than me!

Yes my swing feels alot better now, easier to square up the face now. And it feels really weird for me to keep the shaft angle down so long until impact, but I'm hitting the ball alot more solid now.

I'm still contemplating getting the 3 month deal they have, but it's expensive, like $776 for (10) 30min lessons. My teacher was really good though, easy to work with, very encouraging and stuff.

Well, you get 10 30 minute lessons, unlimited use of the camera and this all gets uploaded to their servers so you can access it anywhere. You also get fittings (which I would save for after the sessions if you are already) that are very in depth and a 2 hour swing analysis.

For $750 it might be worth it. The lessons are worth $600.00 if you do a typical 60/half hour rate, which I see a lot. Plus the in depth video and the fact you can play with it yourself. I'm thinking about it too...

Yeah but the only downside is is you can't see where the ball goes. Also 10 lessons is A LOT of lessons unless you are doing some major overhaul.

What helped you to keep the shaft angle down longer until impact? I'm trying to work on that myself. I think being able to see myself swing would help me with keeping my hands in front of the ball at impact.

You can judge where it is going based on spin, speed and direction. They will chart out the shot and you'll get the feedback you need. Not as great as actually hitting the shot...but having the insane video analysis is probably better.

Sometimes bad swings generate good shots. 10 lessons is a lot, but you do it over 3 months and they can catch you receding from what you should be doing and get you back on track before bad habits stick. And hopefully after that time the swing is grooved and ingrained enough to prevent more bad habits from forming so easily. And if you're a decent golfer already, many of the "lessons" will be more like coaching sessions. Plus you can use some of that time to learn different shots you might not get to use a lot but complete the golf game.

Well the drill we did was using the impact bag, and just holding that angle (although it felt weird) making sure the hands are ahead of the ball at impact. Also he told me only half swing, and try to punch my 7 iron really low.

Certainly better on your take away but it really seems like you're coming over the top on your downswing.

Your face is a bit shut still. Your over the top move caused by your inside takeaway got better. And congrats to your hair.

Went to the range last night, and I'm getting better and better with both the takeaway and holding the angle.

And when I hit it right, I get a really nice flight on the ball, low to high trajectory tour-like. I'm really glad I went to Golftec, I was wondering why the heck I was so inconsistent with ball striking.
