I tend to hit my driver very high and have been working hard to bring the ball flight down. I feel like I'm losing a considerable ammount of distance because of my ball flight. Do you guys have any shaft recommendations that might help bringing my ball flight down?

what shaft do you have right now? It might be a swing flaw / ball position problem.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

My teacher, a PGA pro, said everything about different shafts is a bunch of mumbo jumbo and if you have the right swing, you are good, and that is it.

My currenty loft is 9* and I'm using the stock Nike stiff shaft that came with my driver. I don't have a specfic price range but I'd prefer not to break the bank. I've played around with ball position a little bit but I still have this problem.

I agree it is probably a swing issue and not a shaft issue. The goofy thing about ball position and tee height it that the opposite of common sense is true. You really want it teed high and foward to hit it the correct trajectory.

As for the question. I really like UST and people rave about the V2.

If you're using a stiff shafted 9⁰ driver it's either a swing problem or you're clubhead speed is 130mph. Have you ever been on a launch monitor? What is your launch angle and spin rate? I don't think buying a new shaft designed to lower your ball flight will make the difference you would expect.

That being said, I'm a fan of the Grafalloy shafts, the ProLaunch Red would be a good shaft you could consider.

Before swapping any shaft, I would also highly recommend getting to a shop with a good swing/launch monitor. Knowing your swing speed, ball speed, launch angle, and spin rate are key to getting the proper driver and shaft combination.

Good Luck!
