I have both the R9 460 and the '09 Burner. I am currently on the honeymoon with the R9, loving the adjustability of the club, and it seems to have a bit more of a classic looking head as opposed to the '09. The '09 Burner is great too, but I couldn't get used to the longer shaft and weight of it (obviously something I can change). But I am really into the fact that I have the ability to tinker with the R9, which appeals to me...

I personally like the feel of the 09 burner, but I only tried it a few times at a club as a demo.

I recently bought the 07 burner after hitting it, the 09 burner and the r9 460. It was simply a matter of how consistently I hit the ball with the different clubs. I tested different loft and shaft combos on each and the best for me was the 07. Get which feels and performs best for you - that will often be the latest, but doesn't have to be.

I said '07 Burner because I've demoed both this one and the '09 Burner.

My father is loving the '07 driver and 3 wood.

I am intrigued by the R9 460. Being a tall player, the upright adjustability seems good in theory. I may give one a whirl if my home course gets some demo versions.

The 07 Burner's on sale for $99 at GPPGOLF.com

I saw that. Right now its between the 07 burner and the R9 460. Is the R9 460 worth twice as much as the 07 burner?

Good thread, would love to see more thoughts on this. I currently hit the '07 Burner which I love, but the adjustability and price of the R9 460 does appeal to me. I hit the R9 460 at Golf Galaxy but couldn't get a good feel for it when the ball only travels 15 feet in front of you.

My buddy hits the '09 Burner and KILLS it, but he kills everything, lol.

I'm thinking the R9 460 will be a good investment, especially as I develop my swing.

Funny...the difference one day makes.

I went into the shop on my way to the course and looked around. With a bit of mild haggling I walked away with a new R9 460....had to have them install a larger grip. The stock grip is tiny.

Went to the course and played nine holes with my son....going back today, I hope.

I split a good number of fairways and distance was on par with my previous driver...however I didn't go after anything....just getting acclimated to it.

I left it in the 'neutral' setting.

I may experiment more today.

I also demoed a R9 3wood set 'upright neutral'. One two par 5's I was in great shape off the tee and then in super position after the 3 wood....leaving short wedge shots for birdie attempts.

I bought the driver and want to demo the 3 wood some more.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
