Someone explain to me how Tiger spun the ball so hard on Saturday at Firestone, please? Holy cow ... the ball HAD to be wet sitting there; wet coming off the face and the greens were definately wet in all that rain.

Yet, zip ... he'd pull that string backwards. WOW!!!

How is that possible? Incredible to watch, unbelievable to comprehand.

Steroids.

A quote from Kris
...is that college bball really isn't "lower tier". The better teams have their rosters filled with guys who could play in the NBA. hell, guys used to come straight from high school to the NBA. I really don't think there's much of a difference skill-wise between the two.

it's a little known fact that one of the ''fans'' who follows tiger around the country has the worlds smallest quietest, and most powerful vacuum. on his approach shots, this ''fan'' is always near the green pin high. if the shot is too long, he'll reverse the suction so it shoots back toward the hole. if it's too short, he'll suck it towards the hole so it looks like the ball released.

Actually it's you who is wrong. Tiger's ball spins more than virtually anyone else's on Tour.

I thought that was pretty well known? Oh well.

Golf Digest showed Tiger's ball goes like 8 yards shorter than most other balls if I remember right. Don't quote me on that though, it's been a couple years ago.

This is the internet, hearsay rules the day, facts are irrelevant.

As a witch, he's got an unfair advantage. Not very sporting.

Maybe that explains his backspun greenside bunker shot into a fast, down-sloping green a while back (water below the pin). Now THAT was something magical.

I have read many times that he tells Nike he wants the highest spinning ball he can get. It will then be his job to take the spin off if he doesn't want/need it. But he wants to have the spin available for every shot.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.
