His Wilson Staff contract allows him to play a different company's driver if he so chooses. He's had the R9 in his bag off and on since the Masters.

Really? Thought it was the Callaway FT-9 driver I saw once a few weeks ago. I guess I was wrong.

Anyone else notice the R9 under Paddy's headcover?

I noticed it last week at Firestone. I'm shocked he ever played a Wilson Driver. I hit a bunch of them and never found one that ever felt good.

A few months back he tested a loada new widely used drivers, and he probably had a few different ones in the bag for a few weeks of competitions. He tested the FT9 and R9 i think - those are the only I remember reading about. He used the Wilson Smooth driver at some point and also the DH6 he used in recent years.

      Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.

      I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.

      Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.
