Looking for a new driver, I am looking for something that will maximize my length off the tee.

Went to Golfsmith today and tested a bunch of drivers. I found that I swung this Monstrosity the best and it was by far the most forgiving. I absolutely love the sound this club makes but I am REALLY having a hard time getting over the shape of this thing.....it is butt-ugly...a face only a mother could love.

Any opinions on this club, I can buy one barely used for $150 + 15% off through the weekend....should I pull the trigger.

I think appearance has a big role in performance for golf. After getting use to hitting my sleek r9 triangle shaped head, i tried using my dad's superquad which had this weird bulge on it that i wasnt use to. It ruined my concentration and i didnt get the confidence i needed.

Its like picking a girl, personality or banging body! Its all you. Rarely you find both, unless your extremely patient.

I like that G5 you have over the monster, but if your looking for distance the tmades are your best bet

eh, I've got the Hibore XLS and it is pretty ugly, but you get used to it when you start hitting it well.

I play the xls. not the longest I have ever hit and yes it is ugly but very forgiving. I have heard similar about the monster.

I gamed the XLS last year and quite liked it. The Speedline is longer for me though.

Looking for a new driver, I am looking for something that will maximize my length off the tee.

Driver head technology is pretty much maxed out distance wise. You may find one a little more forgiving which will allow you to gain a couple extra yards but unless you have a consistent swing, you're not going to recognize the extra couple yards and likely won't even recognize it as more forgiving. The clubhead can only do so much... if you have a tendency to hook or slice, you're going to hook or slice regardless of what you're using. If it were me, I'd look into changing shafts before changing to a whole new club (that sounds like you don't even like the looks of?) that will likely give you the exact same distance.

Go ahead and give in if you already want it. No need in wondering " What if " later down the line. I game one and I've come to enjoy the way it looks. Makes you a little more unique out there on the golf course when everyone else looks the same. As a matter of fact... I don't think I've seen anyone else play with one in my area since I've been playing it. lol I hope thats not speaking to its performance. Anyway. you'll be glad you did it.

I play the XLS, and it is a fairway finding machine, the Monster should be just as good.
