I used to all the time, now I cant, and idk why. I'm hitting solid fades right now that are knockdown shots, but at the courses i play, I need a draw every now and then. And remember when giving the tip, I'm LEFT handed.

I simply move my right foot back to help create a inside out swing, and I feel like I'm SLIGHTLY closing down my face at impact. It takes time to learn, and occasionally it may change into a hook.

Drop your rear foot back a bit and move the ball 2 inches closer to center (off your front foot) than you normally play it. Then, most important of all , take the same exact swing you normally take with your Driver. No need to close the face, you have already done what is neccesary to draw the ball. Hit it with confidence.

thanks, ill try that. Do I need to have an open stance with a closed shoulder, or neutral stance with a closed shoulder.

I generally will close my stance a hair, and being right handed try to see a swing path that goes from 7 o'clock to 1. Being left handed you would try to produce a swing path that goes from 5 o'clock to 11.

12 being the front of the ball and 6 being the back of the ball.

I hope that this makes since.

to shape a shot I will... open or close my stance, point my clubface where I want the ball to go, and then just think about my finish poisition during my swing...

Something I do to hit a draw is the same as what the above said about closing the stance some but also once I take my stance I back away from the ball just a tad and think of swinging out at the ball.

Well, right now when try to hit a draw, the shot goes straight, then slices about 200 yards out.

Sounds like your fade shot is taking over and giving you trouble hitting a draw.

You may do it differently, but here's how I hit a draw. - Aim body to the right of the target - Aim clubface to the target - Club into the slot and from the inside - Releasing and rolling the arms over, not conciously, but it's important you don't hold off the release

I'm a righty.....drop back my right foot a bit. I leave my clubface alone (it's normally a degree or two open) and take a practice swing or two consiously thinking about my right elbow dropping into my side as I begin the downswing. This combined with light grip pressure normally draws the ball.

Well, right now when try to hit a draw, the shot goes straight, then slices about 200 yards out.

Ok, your swing path is obviously not coming from in to out. Any type of sharp side spine is ALWAYS from putting side spin from an out to in swing path (note that fades will

gradually go off to the right). It's kinda of like spinning a globe with your hand. Here are some tips that will definitely help cure this: 1. Obviously, you know how to set up for a draw.. 2. Make sure body and club face are square or closed to promote more draw 3. LET THE HIPS LEAD THE HANDS...If you break your wrists you are screwed 4. KEEP THE SAME SPINE ANGLE throughout entire swing 5. NEVER TAKE YOUR HEAD OFF THE BALL even after you hit it 6. Keep chin up, weight on the balls of your feet, don't slouch/stand up to ball 7. SWING THRU THE SHOT WITH A BIG FINISH **Also, strengthen your grip to at least neutral (2 and 1/2 knuckles showing) and maintain left hand 3 fingers on club pressure and right palm over left thumb pressure throughout the entire swing so you don't lose your grip. Write this down and bring it to the range with you. Hit about 200 balls focusing on this stuff. Watch some youtube videos on my points to understand better. Tear it up!

Good stuff. I've never had a lesson. But I have been messing around on the range lately. And I'm starting to be able to work the ball both ways - but it feels line I'm cheating...but at the same time, I've been very consistent and have a real feel with what I'm trying to do.

My typical shot is hitting the ball pin straight - maybe a slight 5 yard fade, but really straight.

Got out late this afternoon and played alone - so I played 2 balls every hole. On one hole, had 150 yards in to a middle pin. I hit my typical 7-iron, hit a good one right at it on the number.

Since I was one of the few out there - I hit another one, this time I lined up about 10 yards right of the target, closed the face of the club and took my regular swing as if I was trying to hit it 10 yards right of the hole. Caught it perfect, the ball really bore in on the flag with a beautiful draw and landed about 15 feet past the hole. That was the first time I tried doing that on the course.

Figuring it was my lucky day, I dropped a 3rd ball, this time aimed 10 yards left of the hole, opened the clubface and hit the shot as if trying to hit it 10 yards left of the hole. Caught it perfect and hit a beautiful little fade that landed about 15 feet short of the hole.

I should have took a picture - because I had one ball dead behind the stick 15 feet, one ball hole high about 4 feet and one ball right on the flag but 15 feet short.

My typical swing is to just get the clubface square on the ball - so I don't have a lot of wrist motion coming through the ball to work it that way - which is why I feel like I'm cheating a little bit by simply opening and closing the face and aiming left or right.

It was neat to see the draw go 5 yards further than my regular shot and the fade go 5 yards less.

All it took was about 5 minutes on the range to get a feel for how much to open and close the face.

I tried this a few other times today on the course and had good results from the fairway. Not much luck with driver off the tee.

Well guys, thanks alot for the advice. I figured it out in two balls today at the range. The advice was very helpful from you guys. Now if i could be making around 28 putts per round instead of 36, I'd be shooting in the mid 70's. So if anyone might want to trade there putter, let me know.
