Best Golf Movie - Page 2

Re: Best Golf Movie

Bagger Vance was pretty solid, though it's hard to get that mysticism feel when you're really on the course!

Re: Best Golf Movie

as far as serious movies go, bagger vance and greatest game were both great. and caddyshack and happy gilmore were really funny. hard to pick out one in particular, but i'm going to go with greatest game, ftw.

Re: Best Golf Movie

I'll vote for Bagger Vance.

Re: Best Golf Movie

Has to be Tin Cup, but Bagger Vance is right ip there as well as The Greatest Game Ever Played.

Actually, If the movie Babe is on the tube, I'd stop & watch it again (starring Susan Clark as the Babe with Alex Karras).

Re: Best Golf Movie

How about I give you one of the WORST movies ever made that happens to be about golf: Caddyshack II..I'd still like to punch Jackie Mason in the mouth for that heap of crap!

Re: Best Golf Movie

My all time favorite is a gentleman's game, I am surprised nobody has mentioned it.

It has its moments. The final putt dropping in because the psychotic (assistant?) greenskeeper is using dynamite to blow up a stuffed gopher is a a poor ending though.

Oh, it looks good on you though.

Thanks. I'm flattered. I work out. We're gonna have to end this relationship before my wife finds out though.

Re: Best Golf Movie

I love "Caddyshack" for lots of laughs. For a serious and interesting movie, I still watch "Bobby Jones---A Stroke of Genius". The relationship between Walter Hagen and Bobby Jones is well documented----fierce competitors (the top pro vs. the top amateur), but there was a great deal of mutual respect. Both of them wrote very highly about the other in their autobiographies. They both were on top of their games during "The Golden Age of Sport". That included Babe Ruth, Red Grange, Bill Tilden, Jack Dempsey, etc.

Re: Best Golf Movie

How can you possibly choose between Caddyshack or Tin Cup. Both are so perfect

Re: Best Golf Movie

Caddy Shack is great but my favorite all time golf film is The Greatest Game Ever Played. This film is inspiring and moving.
