If you want to have a fairly "high" trajectory, go with the Ping shaft.
If you want a slightly lower trajectory go with the Seranno.
If you want to go slightly lower still specify the Prolaunch Red from the WRX options list.
I find the standard Ping shafts to be a little too "whippy" for me.
The torque figure relates to the shafts tendency to twist during the swing.
The lower the figure, the less "twist".

This article might help a little bit in explaining the effects of torque...

Hey Smiffy,

I see you play the G15's. Just wondering if you tested them against the Rapture V2's? I'm trying to decide between the two lol....

Also,

Go with the Serrano, I have read great reviews about it compared to the tfc 149

I asked my local PING dealer about these. He said the Serrano shaft is targeted toward players who want a mid-to-low ball flight. He said the stock PING shaft is more of a mid-to-high shaft.

You'd probably need to demo both and see which yielded the best results for you.

The only G15 club I have in the bag is the Driver, and I haven't checked this out against the Rapture. Mine was a direct replacement for the previous G10 model.

The G15 is taking a little more time to adjust to than the G10. Despite what my pro (and others) say, the G15 does seem to sit a little more closed at address than the G10 did. I'm finding my bad shots with the G15 are straight pulls, whereas the bad shots with the G10 were fades. Same shaft, same swing (I think) so it's got to be the head, hasn't it???

You are scaring me.....I really don't like closed driver faces. I'm hoping my dealer will get some demos in soon. I'd love to try one.....10.5 with Serrano stiff.

i have had the ping G15 driver for a long time now and admittedly it did take some time to get use to but now i have it is incredible the serrano shaft is the best out of the two as it doesnt seem as stiff as it is the G15 driver is the driver for any golfer and goes a mile when hit you can beleive me !!!!

    • A bit of background. The Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) runs an annual event known as "Team Play." It is a wildly popular match play competition where Men's Clubs across the region put together teams of 20+ golfers together to compete against other clubs in a 16 vs. 16 match. In any given year, approximately 80-100 clubs will participate. Each club is grouped into "pods" of 4, and will play 6 total matches - one home and one away match against the other 3 clubs. The winning club from each pod advances to the Team Play Playoffs - a single elimination format - until a winner is crowned.  Antelope Valley Country Club just advanced to the championship match for the 3rd consecutive year. They won the championship in both 2022 and 2023.  Based on my review of the match history from the past 3 years (linked below), they have won 21 consecutive team matches. Keep in mind, these are handicapped matches, so this is not just a case where a group of sticks bands together to dominate the poor amateurs other SoCal clubs. Even if these guys are grinders who never quit, play their best under pressure and routinely putt the lights out, the law of averages still say that a streak of that nature is mathematically impossible.  Is there any plausible explanation beyond institutionalized sandbagging throughout the club? • Interesting that Scottie is #10 on the all time money list and he's been on the PGAT for 4 years. Of course, purses are bigger now, but  neat to look at non-the-less.  The list of top 18 money winners in PGA Tour history has plenty of surprises This list is updated through the 2024 RBC Heritage. To add, Scottie won 4.5 million at the Players, Jack played 44 seasons and won a little of 5 million on course.
    • 43 (6 over) Couple bogies, couple Pars, a birdie and no doubles. Not bad for first 9 of the year.
    • Most the stuff I found on Instagram and just copy and mix it up. a few of my favorites: Clean>Squat>Press> March Around the body >catch >Squat> press I also hold a the kettle bell upside down with both hands on the handle. Squat when I stand back up I lift the kettlebell up over and behind my head and hold then repeat
