I'm looking at purchasing a new set of irons. I would like some suggestions on what you guys would think would "fit" my golf game best.

1 - I'm currently a 10 handicap.
2 - I'm a short hitter. 6i=150yrs
3 - I'm a lefty (noting since some clubs are not made in left handed)
4 - I have a low ball flight but would like a higher ball trajectory to gain more carry.
5 - I'm currently playing Mizuno MX-15 with Dynamic Gold R300

The first thing I have though of is for a shaft is GS75 R300 or another very light shaft.

As for clubs I'm interested in, I'm really not sure yet. I plan on going to GolfTown this week.

Look at something with ligherweight low kick point shaft... I think Many Taylormade Game Improvement Irons have these... Perhaps the R7 or Burner 09.. I have a set of R7 XD from 2006 and with stock TM "R" shafts and they are light, hit the ball very high, and have strong lofts... so with something like this you might find you hit the ball higher and hit the new "6 IRON" 160 yds. I would definitely get away from the standard DG shafts (they have a high flex point, therefore promote lower ball flight) and look at something lighter with a lower flex point.... There are some newer Dyanmic Gold Shafts that have these specs (lighter, High Launch). Good Luck.

A couple questions:

What's wrong with the MX-15s? Have you been fit for irons? What's your game like (working the ball, etc.)? It would be easier to help you if these questions were answered.

In my Ogio Ozone Bag:
TM Superquad 9.5* UST Proforce 77g Stiff
15* Sonartec SS-2.5 (Pershing stiff)
19* TM Burner (stock stiff)

A couple questions:

Nothing wrong with the MX-15's. And they are not fitted and I have never been fitted for my irons. Have had them for about 5 years now and just starting thinking about trying something new. I'm not sure if I should keep with the game improvement (cavity backs) or try something with more feel (more of a players iron).

As noted my game isn't long so I rely on my short game. Inside 120yrs is my zone. Long game is the challenge at this point. I practice working the ball on the range a lot, but only do it occasionally when I "need" to on the course.

    • Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.
    • Day 73: just some mirror work today. Working on feels for being open and getting the front shoulder down.
    • I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.
    • Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.
    • Day 8 (Jun 8 26) - Stayed the drill but added two additional irons (7i, 8i and 9i) - using Divot Board and hard foam balls - focused on tempo and purposed pause at the top….noticing how open the club is marking the board when I try to kill it and how much more square (and better distance) when I focus on these keys.
