I have an R9 460 9.5 that I don't really like the feel of. Even though it is a 460cc head, I feel like I rarely hit the "sweet spot" compared to my old R7 (which is actually a 420cc). Anyway, I would like some recommendations for good feeling drivers. I have the Burner 07' 3 wood, and it feels phenomenal on just about every hit. Should I swap my R9 in for the Burner 07' driver? How is that driver? Is it long, does it have good feel? Any other recommendations would be helpful. Thanks!

All these questions will be answered differently depending on who you ask. If you ask me, my Titleist 909D3 is the best feeling driver I've ever hit, but I've not hit anything else in a while, so I can't compare.

Just go try a bunch of drivers and pick what you like. A thread like this will only get your replies like "I have the [enter driver name here] and love it!"

Well I had a really crappy (Acuity) driver and then I bought a used Callaway BB 460. I went from 200ish inconsistent yards to 230-270yds down the middle. I'm a beginner so I'm not sure, but I do know the equipment makes a difference. I'd say to go get fitted and test out a few for yourself on the range before committing.

I would suggest a Tour Burner if you're dead set on TaylorMade. I went from an R7 to the TB and found just as good consistancy and a touch more distance. If you're looking to trade, I've got 2 Tour Burners so I can part with one!

    • Just want to share a quick update with everyone. I went to the range the week before last, even though I took it easy no significant pain occurred just a slight twinge when I swung my #4 hybrid. The most encouraging news was no soreness the next morning. However I think switching back to graphite shafts is definitely gonna happen, my mp15's were fitted with X shafts and having something lighter will help.
