Thats funny are they coming out with snowballs so we can get traction in the snow. I personally switch balls in the fall and earlier spring just because the course conditions don't demand a high spin ball in the North East. The greens a soft so the balls not going to do much after it hits anyway.

cold weather balls will just be balls with a really low compression due to balls get harder in the cold.. so less layers = more easier to compress.. i.e. most of them being 2 layer balls.

For cold weather, just play a soft ball. I have used the Precept Laddie X and Noodles with great success. Awesome balls for the money. The Laddie's are on sale for $19.99 for TWO dozen at Edwin Wats or The Golf Warehouse. Best cheap ball out there in my opinion. For a little more money ($20/dozen), the Srixon Soft Feel is an incredible golf ball.

If possible, get CW balls which are orange or yellow in color. Winter days give you a lot of very pale blue or white-gray skies. It's easy to lose sight of a white ball in conditions like this. Combine that with leaf trash, and its tough to find your ball - even in the fairway.

Focus, connect and follow through!

I recently started playing the Precept Lady IQ Plus. Softest ball I've ever hit, much more durable than a ProV or Gamer, and plays to about the same yardage in cool weather or hot.

I really like the look on the guy's faces when I out drive them with a lady's ball.

I am sure the Precept Lady is a great ball. It is what gave birth to the Precept Laddie. Apparently guys were buying the Precept Lady balls many years back and Precept caught on to this. Likely not much difference in a "lady" and "laddie". Awesome golf balls for sure.

I played 60 holes in 10 hours last weekend, I used Top Flight XL 5000 super soft. Since I am not a power hitter by any means, and the balls were $12 for 15. I was very satisfied with them.

I ordered a Chicken and an Egg on the Internet, to find out which came first... I'll keep you posted!

hmm, cold weather balls are simple two piece, softer balls cause the cold, like it does to everything, makes the ball harder so softer balls are easier to hit. during winter i use the srixon soft feel, other than that, the rest of the year i use the zstar

Was it the new IQ Plus? I didn't get the pink ones (as it was, the checkout lady kinda smirked when a 6'3" 260lb guy walked up with the white ones), but if they decide to make any other color, my old(er) eyes would sure appreciate it!
