Re: Official "Tiger Returns" Thread

March 1-7 The Honda Classic Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

I'll bet 2 points. it's a nice, tough course to tune up at for the World Golf Championships-CA Championship the following week and its also right around the time Tiger knows he has to start prepping for the Masters.

Re: Official "Tiger Returns" Thread

My initial thought was he would not play in 2010, but seeing that a divorce is in the works.....I say he will be back for Bay Hill. But I don't see him playing a lot this year. Just a warm up here and there for the majors. Put me down for 2.

Re: Official "Tiger Returns" Thread

I've only got a couple points to play with, so I'll wager 1.

If he's healthy, he'll come out at either the SBS Championship in Kapalua, Hawaii or the Sony Open in Honolulu.

Before he mends fences with the fans and sponsors, he should try to mend fences with his PGA teammates - his fellow competitors - his brothers. Teeing it up with his fellow PGA tournament winners would be such a gesture. Besides, theres a lot of surfing hotness in Hawaii - he needs to date an athlete, not a barfly.

Re: Official "Tiger Returns" Thread

I'm not sure he won't play the first chance he gets. What's keeping him? Elin is leaving. What else has he got to do except watch tv and eat cereal?

Re: Official "Tiger Returns" Thread

I have no idea how much rep I have, but put 2 of it on:
March 1-7 The Honda Classic Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

If I don't even have 2, put 1 on it. I have to at least have 1.

Re: Official "Tiger Returns" Thread

I say maybe a Pro-Am?
Arnold's tournament maybe, like someone said on the first page, Arnold loves Tiger and a more fun-like tournament and a change for Tiger maybe to relax a bit and try work round what's going to be a super-scrutinsed year by the media.

Re: Official "Tiger Returns" Thread

I will put 3 on the memorial. Prep for the Open at Pebble.

Re: Official "Tiger Returns" Thread

I don't think he will miss another World Golf Championship so it has to be 3 points at World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship

A Hui Hou!

1 point says he doesn't play next year at all.

p.s. for those that think he'll play anytime before the US Open you guys are f*ckin nuts. Do you honestly think he'll be playing on FATHERS DAY?! What kind of jackass would he be to miss spending that valuable time with his kids, assuming Elin even lets him see them.

Re: Official "Tiger Returns" Thread

Who knows??? All I know is when he returns it will have the biggest viewer rating of any golf tournament (I know I'll be watching).
I could really care less, but I bet on the Masters...but who knows, maybe Jack's record isn't important to him anymore. Not that I care about him breaking the record, or Jack's record itself. Golf is much bigger than who has the most majors.

The U.S. Open ends on father's day, so what you say doesn't make sense. He could play before the U.S. Open and then skip the Open itself if father's day is that important to him. Also, some of us don't think Elin is going to have a say in the matter. If she gets convicted of spousal abuse, she won't likely get custody.

Re: Official "Tiger Returns" Thread

March 22-28 Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard Orlando, Fla. Gives him two events prior to the Masters.
I'm putting three points on Tiger commencing at this event. Thinking that it may be a moot point though as there appears to be speculation as to whether he'll play 2010 at all. It's our new year's eve now so I'm cutting it fine.

.
And the ironic thing will be that the TV coverage of that tournament will be filled with the usual Cialis and Viagra commercials that seem to permeate every televised golf event - the whole TV coverage will be almost nothing but alternating Tiger coverage and erectile dysfunction ads - a strange combo indeed!

Re: Official "Tiger Returns" Thread

I would like to change my bet to 3 points for the Dubai Desert Classic, reflecting my belief that his leave of absence from the PGA Tour is not a voluntary one.

Re: Official "Tiger Returns" Thread

Betting is over, but if nobody wins, no points will change hands because nobody can gain the points everyone would have otherwise lost.

Nobody predicted "the Tavistock Cup" as Tiger's return to golf.

So we may have a contest with no winners (and thus, no losers)

Re: Official "Tiger Returns" Thread

If he starts playing again, I'd say everybody (except the haters) win!

Don't recall watching this cup, is it broadcast on TV?
Sounds like a tournament that would fit just right for his debut 2010. Monday and tuesday as playing days, only two days, little crowd. I'd call it plausible.

Edit: Was looking at the Tavistock Cup website, course details: "7544 yards known as the "Tiger Tees".

Edit2: http://www.tavistockcup.com/events.asp

I disagree. If you do not win, by definition you lost. Therefore, everyone who didn't pick the Tavistock Cup is a loser.

But seriously, picking the Tavistock Cup as a "return to golf" seems to make sense but is it really his "return to golf"? I consider that as a charity event not a golf tournament. So, I think the contest is still on...

My guesses were already wrong (overbid). Regardless of points, I'll always be a loser - c'est la vie.
