Where's the balls?
This is the only issue of GD I look forward to. With so many new golf balls (Penta, new Pro-Vs, new Callaway's, new Maxfli's) I was highly anticipating their reviews. Did I skip the ball section, is it missing from my magazine copy? Are they saving it for next month?

as far as i know the ball test comes the moth after the hot list, at least that's how it worked last year.
just to add on, i was really surprised to see the titleist drivers get silver and not gold

Just goes to show how you have to take everything in the Hot List with a grain of salt. It's good for informational purposes, but I generally disregard the opinions and medals.

I believe they state that the drivers came in too late or am I thinking of some of the other drivers they didn't review. I don't have the mag in front of me, but I do remember reading something about the equipment coming out too late.

They said that the audience for those specific clubs was not large enough. I couldn't disagree more! It was the Callaway FT Tour, Ping i15, Taylor Made R9 SuperTri, and Taylor Made Burner Superfast. 4 Drivers i'm sure will be extremely popular!!!

that is bullcrap. i suck at golf and i can hit a 2 iron better than a hybrid. their kool-aid has got to be tainted.

i was surprised they mentioned most mid-high handicappers should ditch their 3 woods... i never take their hot lost issues seriously, it always seems as if they're being bribed by certain manufacturers... however.. i do look forward to the reviews of the new maxfli balls....

Don't forget, EVERYBODY should play GI or SGI irons. Blades are dead. I just read that in GD a few months ago.

I still haven't gotten my copy this month. Do I need to call GD and report a missing issue?

Yup, from now on 4 woods only guys, or your "obsolete." I read it because i like seeing the couple of new clubs that i haven;t seen before. But, like i mentioned in my last post, they didn't review those.........

They are also confusing, this issue, as to catagorizing certain clubs. Ping I15 as a players iron? I thought they were a GI. I also liked their "interactive" format like last year, rather than browse through pages of each catagory.

Like a grain of salt. I don't pay much if any attention to the Hot List. As if telling me that their editors - who probably live someplace warm and golf 10 times more than I do and who are likely much better golfers - prefer certain clubs is going to make ME shell out 1 large for new gear and make ME a better golfer. Pssht! The list is perhaps helpful if you've been living in a cave for the past 10 years and are clueless as to the new, available technology. But that's about it.

Oh wait, then again, I play two sets of irons that are more than 10 years old. lol Wow, I just looked again at the irons. IMHO, I think there is too much gratuitous use of medallions, star bust carved out cavities, and nonsensical "bling" on many of the current iron offerings. One of the Nike sets I saw looked like a cyborg robot attached to a shaft.
