Any other Wildcat fans out there? We are very excited about this team. What a group of freshmen. I feel John Wall will be the first pick in the NBA draft.

C-A-T-S! CATS CATS CATS!!! They are a terrific team a little immature about a few things in the game but they can absolutely play ball. When they really focus and play like they need to I don't think there is any team in the country that could beat em.

Are you kidding? you don't think there is anyone who can beat Kentucky? First of all South Carolina DID beat UK. Second, you think on any given night, Scotty Reynolds couldn't go crazy and put 30+ points up and the rest of 'Nova play well enough to beat UK? I do.

Syracuse's match-up zone will shut down UK unless someone is shooting unconsciously from outside. (UK is capable though)

Kansas is THE mentally toughest team out there and have SEVEN players with the green light to shoot threes. (MK Morris, 9 of 13; Morningstar 15 of 31; Reed 27 of 62; Henry 45 of 117; Taylor 13 of 34; Collins 47 of 123; and MC Morris 8 of 22) All 36.4% or better and that does not account for the mop up crew (15 of 30).

UK is very similar to KU, except in the experience department, so you can't say that NO ONE can beat UK.

I didn't say NO ONE couldn't beat UK on any given night. I said IF UK would play the game that they have the talent to play and mature into the game, they are a very young team, then no they probably can't be beat. Yeah, USC did beat UK but did you see the freakishly good game Downey played? He made shots that LeBron could call circus. Anybody can be beat but on the same card anybody can go undefeated. Obviously UK won't go undefeated but I honestly think they could have.

Im a fan...Kind of. I used to root against them becuase of my UC backround but the older I get, the more I like them (I am from NKY). I also have a father in law who is a big fan.

They are exciting. Wall is amazing. This could be a very special year.

Don't underestimate Villanova, Syracuse or Georgetown...the Big east is a monster this year. Come touney time nobody is going to want to see any of those. Villanova is super fast and very deep, they play 11 guys 10 minutes or more and the legs are fresh at the end.

it will be fun!!

I agree with KYgolfer. On a night when they are on it would be hard to find anyone who can play with them. That being said there are alot of teams that when things are going their way that would be hard to beat. I am still very excited and think the sky is the limit for this team. They are growing as a team and getting better with every game. After a few years of lackluster basketball it is nice to have the excitement back. Do you think if Billy G. was still the coach we would be having this conversation. I think not.

well, i sort of have a love hate relationship with billy g. he was a great coach at my school, and he took us to the sweet 16 for the first time ever. and renewed spirit for basketball in college station. he was the best thing that could have happened to kentucky. of course you guys would have been good this year with him. who do you think recruited all that talent? and he didn't have to pay them either, a la john calipari, aka the biggest crook of 'em all. i'd be ashamed to have him anywhere near my campus, let alone on my staff. i think mr. rupp would be sick. just wait a year or two when his recruits start coming from the slums of detroit, chicago, etc. the crime rate is going to go up in the state of kentucky. ever heard of world wide wes? and no, i'm not bitter that you took my coach. ok, maybe a little.

As far as being good this year with Billy G. I don't see it. No John Wall. No Demarcus Cousins. No eric Bledsoe. Also his conduct toward players ad well as a DUI arrest was not what the university needed. Also playing in the NIT tourament is not acceptable. I am sure he will find work and do very well. Just not here. As far as the crime rate going up in the state of Kentucky because of baskeball recruiting I don't see that happening. Just because kids may come from a ruff area or were living in poverty does not mean they are going to be theives and thugs. Some maybe but you can not judge people by where they have grown up as a kid or how well off their family was. I grew up in poverty and I am not a thief or a thug. I do appreciate the opinion but I can not fully agree. I guess that is why we have these forums. Thanks for the reply.

I bleed Blue!...I grew up in Frankfort, KY, attended UK in the 60's when Rupp was coach. I do believe they have the talent, but am disgruntled with their attitude at times......D Cousins always has a bad attitude and a temper to control.

My golf bag has a UK Wildcat Mascot Driver headcover, UK Putter cover & Uk Ball markers. I use blue tees and have a dozen ProV1x's left that are inscribed "Go Cats"

Go Big Blue.....Go big Blue!

well, i guess north carolina should fire roy williams, then. cause they won't even make the NIT at this rate. those kids at kentucky were used to being pampered and told how good they were. billy is a blue collar, hard nose d basketball coach. you don't play d, you don't play. once he had his own players who bought into his program, the sky would have been the limit at kentucky. look what he did at aTm. 4 years removed from a 0 win conference year, we go to the 16. coincidence? i think not.

Adolph Rupp was born in Kansas and went to the University of Kansas - he learned the game from Phog Allen. Dean Smith was born in Kansas. He also played college ball at KU. His team won the National Championship in 1952.

Kentucky has some incredibly skilled players, but I question their mental ability to stay cool under pressure - and make free throws if the situation calls for it. Granted, UK is generally up by 15 or 20, but in a tight game with a minute to go you have to make free throws or other teams are going to foul you to beat you . . . It's like putting out the two to four footers in match play on the last few holes.
Wall is amazing, but I'll take my Jayhawks this year.

Agreed. Obviously.

I'm a huge New Mexico fan, but wow, the Cats are amazing this year. Probably the most talented team I've ever seen in college, maybe fab five had more. Cousins is an absolute monster, not to mention Wall. Even though they may be immature, I say talent gets them through.

    • I’m not sure I’m following you. My current plan is to take the bunkers out of play completely and hit something like a 6i to 130-150 range.
    • Day 139- Slow, swings with short practice club.
    • You might want to try a can of Bar Keepers Friend. Yes, it is abrasive, so just wet a sponge and dab it on. It has oxalic acid (no bleach like "Comet" kitchen cleanser), and it works wonders on stainless steel and other metals. Try it on a small area first to see what happens.
    • Fair   My uneducated thought: the big miss is the penalty area. If you want to optimize score, missing into the bunker (likely 5) is better than missing right into the penalty (possible 6). With that, your strategy seems sound and if you hit a committed shot, you get a bunker 5% of the time, take your medicine and hopefully get a putt for par but accept bogey. You may find yourself in a penalty situation 2-3% of the time and accept the associated outcome. The vast majority of the time though you are giving yourself a good approach shot into the green.
    • I walk 30 mins a day on my lunch break. It is not very intense (since i dont want to get sweaty in my work clothes), so just a touch above leisurely. 3 days a week I walk on the treadmill for 60 mins. I alternate the incline from 4 to 10 for a couple minutes, once every ten minutes. I lift my kettlebells nearly everyday. I have a couple complex routines. I find just 15 minutes and my heart rates is elevated
