Most Forgiving Drivers?

What drivers do you think are the most forgiving on off-center hits? I usually get about 240 yards of carry so I am not worried about distance.

My Nike Sumo 5900 is pretty forgiving I think...but I'm wondering what drivers you guys thought were pretty forgiving?

Well i hit a nike Dymo Sq driver and thought it was very forgiving also the 5900 is about the same.
I think the ping g5 was pritty good aswell.

NONE of these drivers I would ever use but they all have major forgivenss.

Re: Most Forgiving Drivers?

You'll find pretty good forgiveness with any 460 cc clubhead.

Re: Most Forgiving Drivers?

Cleveland Monster Hibore XLS is very forgiving.

I borrowed a friend's Callaway FT-5 for 18 holes and couldn't miss the fairway with it.

Re: Most Forgiving Drivers?

FT-iQ is crazy straight. And stays straight and long on off-center hits.

Re: Most Forgiving Drivers?

You may be asking just to be asking, but fixing your swing is much better path to take than switching to a more forgiving driver. As was said, any 460cc clubhead will be forgiving; some more than others, but the difference isn't really noticeable with how inconsistent the typical amateur's swing is. Technology can only do so much but the golfer still has to hit the shots.

Thanks for the input. I don't know if I will buy a different driver...but I was just interested in what you guys thought.

Re: Most Forgiving Drivers?

I have used a lot of 460 head drivers and I currently have the R9 460 which I think is super forgiving and you can customize it. I have it on Neutral and have cut my hooks way down. Best driver I have ever hit.

Re: Most Forgiving Drivers?

Most square head drivers are designed with forgiveness a priority due to the perimeter weighting

I completely agree

Re: Most Forgiving Drivers?

I dont think there is such a thing as a forgiving driver... youre swing determines how well you hit a driver.

my 2¢

Add another vote for the Cleveland Monster

Re: Most Forgiving Drivers?

How about the Cobra L5V?

I hit it for the past year and it kept me in the middle of the fairway.

Well said! Sure, maybe certain clubs are "more forgiving' but a lot of that data comes from some robot hitting the ball. The fact is, EVERYONE swings different. You need to get fitted with a driver that best matches your swing. I had my heart set on a Ping G10 because I kept hearing about how forgiving thy were. When I got fitted.....I couldn't hit that *&^% thing to save my life!!!!!!! Heck, I hit me persimmon driver from the 80's better than that thing......( this was done on a monitor and driving range....on 2 occasions). The club that I wound up hitting the best by far was the TM Superquad.....it was an older club and not even on my long list to try out. I have it now and it's not going anywhere for a long time. So try out some new clubs and get fitted......I will almost guarantee you'll wind up with something totally different than you thought!

Re: Most Forgiving Drivers?

I hit 52% of my fairways with my previous drivers. 73% since I got the TM Tour Burner.

Re: Most Forgiving Drivers?

I'm a Callaway guy when it comes to woods/metals, so I am a little bias. The FTIQ is the most forgiving driver I have ever hit. The 2007 Big Bertha is also quite forgiving.

Re: Most Forgiving Drivers?

Another vote for the FT-IQ sure if you come over the top or hit with an open face it will still slice but heel and toe hits still go straight with only a slight loss of distance
