Keep on topic......

Seriously though, I don't think it'll be too long before Tiger gets to 19 - I'm pretty certain it'll be when he's still in his 30's...!!!! Shae he cound't get to 20 under, but I suppose he did what he had to do on the front nine - blow them away early and then take no risks.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he only needs six more to tie Jack. Two of Jack's majors were Amateur tournaments and they somehow consider those majors to get him to 20.

I was at our UPS golf outing today and didn't get to see it live, but I listened on my XM Radio walkman (can you imagine how rediculous that looked?) and couldn't believe the putts he was making. Anybody who makes those putts deserves to win.

As much as it pains me........... Congratulations Tiger.

19 beats him in terms of professional majors. I think that's what he was saying.

Tiger has 3 amateurs, so if you count those, he's at 15 to Jack's 20, and you'd be right in that 6 puts him past Jack.

19 to get past him is what I meant - as Erik pointed out.

2 of Jack's werewere Amateur tournaments? Really, I wasn't aware of that I thought they were all professional majors? EDIT: They were all major champs: US Masters - 1963, 1965, 1966, 1972, 1975, 1986 - 5 victories The Open - 1966, 1970, 1978 - 3 victories US Open - 1962, 1967, 1972, 1980 - 4 victories US PGA - 1963, 1971, 1973, 1975, 1980 - 5 victories Total 18..... EDIT2: Interesting stat: Tiger has won his 12 majors by a combined 56 shots, while Nicklaus won his 18 majors by 44 shots.

You're misunderstanding what was said... Jack - and some others - consider his U.S. Ams as majors. That gives him 20 and Tiger 15 (Tiger won three of them).

If you're talking professional majors, 18 and 12 are the totals.

Looks like we are seeing the beginning of another awesome run by Tiger. Brilliant display of golf . . .

It began last year though. Player of the Year, 2 majors, top-4 finishes in the other two.... a top-3 in the Masters this year. The only blemish is his MC at the U.S. Open, but that's excusable, somewhat.

2005 Buick Invitational Ford Championship at Doral Masters Tournament British Open Championship WGC-NEC Invitational WGC-American Express Championship PGA Grand Slam of Golf Dunlop Phoenix 2006 Buick Invitational Ford Championship at Doral British Open Championship Buick Open PGA Championship P.S. OWGR Points as of today: Tiger Woods (20.99), Phil Mickelson (8.93).

Ahhh I getcha now.

Was watching a highlights package on Sky TV this morning just after I got up and on the fron nine Feherty and his other commentating colleague were chatting away and one turned to the other and said "He's a freak", the otehr repied "Yeah he really is" How true is that - Tiger really is freakishly good.
