This doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Before a few days ago I was extremely confident in my 8 9 and PW. I would hit my best shots with those clubs.

Now... I have an EXTREME slice (apparently a push slice). Occasionally I will hit a nice ball but equally as much I will hit a slice that literally goes a few feet forward then crazy right...

Don't know what I'm doing and it is extremely frustrating...

I broke 100 for the first time this passed week and I know without these clubs I'll have no chance of getting to my goal of consistently sub-100.

Slice/shank then. My guess would be that you roll the club face open on the backswing and pull on the hosel.

Sounds like your swing path is out-to-in. Do you have any video camera facilities that would allow you to view your swing in slow motion (or upload it for other users to view)? Have you taken any lessons, or have a Pro that you can visit for advice?

it can only be one of a few reasons.
1. out to in swing... remedy: swing in to out.
2. open clubface at impact... remedy: strengthen grip and/or release earlier
3. sway in the backswing... remedy: don't sway

I used to shank my PW and SW for ages.

it´s all about the wrist for me,
I did this to fix it (I advise to bring a LOAD of shag balls)
try nearly hit a punch shot with them at the start (no wrist turn ball back of the stance)
if your still slicing those then your not turning on the follow through enough, keep going until your confident you can hit the ball straight.
Then move the ball to the middle of your stance and keep 0 wrist hinge.
Once all that is sorted out use a small amount of wrist hinge and work on it.

And hopefully you´ll be cured of the shanks!

im going to the range tomorrow to try to correct this before I play a round on Wednesday.

I seemed to be more consistent when having a little more weight on my left foot at address.

I will write down these suggestions and take it to the range tomorrow.

Try releasing the club head, role those wrists...

No, absolutely not. Rolling the wrists is recipe for inconsistency.

Keep the wrists square, don't roll them over and open the clubface, on the way down, keep the wrists quiet, gravity will take care of getting the club to the ball. If you struggle with rolling or holding them off on the downswing, try to maintain a flat left wrist through impact. If the ball starts somewhat straight, it could be a very out-to-in swingpath, but that's not too common with the short irons. It's not impossible that you take the hands back away from your body, instead of getting them closer

Reminding myself to release the club usually cures my slice. making sure both arms are fully extended at impact is one of my favorite swing-thoughts.

So rolling the right wrist over the left after impact is incorrect in releasing the club head???

Conciously, yes. The wrists does roll, but you should not try doing it, it should happen naturally because of quiet wrists.

i went to the range today and had some good success... I noticed that my right and left feet weren't aligned properly... I had my back foot in front of my left (closer to the ball). I straightened myself out and wasn't slicing.

My lessons start on SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
