Now that square drivers have been out for a while, what are people's opinions of them? Do they take away spin, are they more accurate, are they shorter hitting? Just want to gauge people's opinions on this.

I've had a square driver (FT-iQ) for a few weeks now, after trying out my dad's last November. I have mixed feelings about the appearance, really hated it at first but it's growing on me. I hit it well enough, which is what counts in the end. I don't know that they're systematically that different from more traditionally-shaped drivers... I think they're supposed to be more forgiving, which probably means they're less useful for shaping shots and *maybe* give up a bit of distance on a pure strike in exchange for better distance on a slight mishit, but that's just conjecture on my part.

In the bag:
FT-iQ 10° driver, FT 21° neutral 3H
T-Zoid Forged 15° 3W, MX-23 4-PW
Harmonized 52° GW, Tom Watson 56° SW, X-Forged Vintage 60° LW
White Hot XG #1 Putter, 33"

Well ive been a few demo nights in the past 2 months.
IVe found that the square drivers are a little strighter, not that much. I still found that I could work the ball to, as most people say they can not. I think alot of it is in your head when it comes to drivers.

I think the best thing you can do is, go to your local shop and get fitted for a driver, try custom shafts and get the best driver, that is for you!

I've been playing the Callaway FTIQ since October. I was hesitant to but it due to the shape. I hit it exceptionally straight and yardage was about the same as my previous driver (Callaway X460). It took me about two range sessions to get used to the apperance. Now...whenever I pull out the X460...that looks weird to me at address.

It doesn't take long to adjust and get used to looking down at a different driver head, wedge, iron, putter, whatever.

I don't know if it's due to the shape or not, but I find the square FTIQ to be the straightest and most forgiving driver I have hit yet.

What I Play:

Driver: R9 460
4 Wood: G15

Hy: Callaway FT 3Hy

Irons: AP1 4-PW

Wedges: Vokey 52* & 60*, Mizuno MP-T 10 58*

Putter: Newport Studio Select 2.7

Ball: Nike One Vapor

I've had the FTI since the first year. It is definately not the longest driver I have, but it almost always keeps me in the fairway. I wish I had not let them talk me into a 10 degree with a regular shaft, I get very high drives with little run, but like i said they're in play.

I used to play a Ping G2 and decided to go for the FTiQ about a year ago. Is not easy to get used to the shape, but now I hit it straighter but not as long as the G2, though. I tend to ballon the ball and lose some distance since I barely get any roll, but still hit around 260 average (I have a pretty agressive driver swing, and use stiff shaft).
It´s also true that my swing has changed since i used to play the G2, but still i think I could be somewhat longer if I played with a traditional shaped driver...I´m gonna get fitted for a Ping G15, and then compare ito see f it´s worth the purchase, cause I´d rather to lose some distance to stay most of the time on fairway...right now I average about 70% fairway hit.

In My Bag:

Driver: Titleist 910D2 9.5º Regular
Irons: 4-SW Taylor Made Burner, Regular Graphite
Wedges: 60°-08 Titleist Vokey

Fairway Wood: 16º 3W Taylor Made R9 Stiff

Hybrid: Adams A4OS 19° Regular

Putter: Scotty Cameron Studio Newport 2
