Well when I say push I mean block. Sorry for the mis-use of term. The reason I don't close the driver face is the reason on the last drive, I DO NOT want to hook the ball. That is death.

I dunno, when my sister stating hooking they were able to get a much nicer TV.

Using Google, and remembering my last three 9 hole rounds the past 7 days. I plotted my Shot Zone for my driver. Behold the most inconsistent club in my bag.

 

 

Using Autocad has its advantages, such as looking up the area of that eclipse, which happens to be 10356 square yards. If that was a square it would be just over a 100x100 square yard. 

 

Not sure I want to be taking this club out of the bag anytime soon :-(

 

Just for planning purposes for the Erie, PA trip, and from Erik's "How would you play this hole" example. That is not good :no:

How does that compare to the shot zones of your 3w, 3i, etc on the same hole? Remember, it's about selecting the best option.

Not sure, the 3-wood sample size is too small. I might just hit the 3-wood from now on to get a good sample size. At least from my last handful of times hitting the 3 wood they have been very similar shots, a good 10-15 yard draw. 

 

The long iron is pretty predictable as well. Usually its either a 10 yard block, or a 5-10 yard draw.

I think you need to put them all on the hole, highlight the "bad stuff", and then pick.

I think I would trade my 225 yard drivers (with a much smaller zone) for the ability to hit it that far..

Well, block is an extreme into out swing path, and the ball will go straight right 40-50 yards off line. A block is an extreme push. If I close the clubface a little bit from that extreme outward swing path then I get the hook.

If the head is going back to try and achieve the "stretch" there is a good chance the legs are "sagging" at and past impact.

 

Yeah just looked at your recent video. On the right, the legs are extending and the thighs are together, helps that rotation.

So does getting the belt buckle pointing higher help with that? Is there something else I should be concerned with when trying to get that extension right?

It's all connected. You can't really thrust with the legs staying flexed. Did you ever see the video with Dave throwing the boulder over a wall? It's like that, you can't throw the boulder, raise the belt, if the legs are saggy. 

 

I said "maybe" in my last post because whatever feels translate to achieving the motion depends on the player. I was just working with someone that got the legs and pelvis to thrust by feeling like he changed his eye line on the downswing. I'm not recommending you try this feel, just wanted to let you know, if the head is going back, what pieces to look at. What the "origin" could be.

Got it!  So just need to keep progressing with changing the image of my hips at impact and into the finish.
