Something annoy you? Do you think that you're the only one that's bothered by this? Well here's your chance to vent. What are things that annoy you? Can be golf or non-golf related.

I'll start: Things that annoy me!

- People who are late.
- People who don't return shopping carts. (This actually a big one for my wife.)
- Clutter.
- Radio commercials that act like their a real station. Eg: "We'll be back with more music in a sec but first, did you hear about government repo homes for sale?"
- People who back into parking spots. I understand if it's a sporting even or other high traffic area, but for your office parking lot or Wal-Mart? Come on. They usually can't park straight either and end up taking up two spots. It's a hell of a lot easier to back out of a space then to back into one.
- People with bad manners or those who don't say "thank you".
- People who throw cig butts out the window. If I threw my McDonald's wrapper out the window, would that be acceptable? Hell no!!! Why do people think cig butts are any different. They don't deteriorate quickly.

If you can't back into a parking spot then you need to learn to drive. it is no harder to back into a parking spot then it is to back out of one. Everything else you said I agree with

One of my main pet peeves at the moment is poor use of apostrophes. When people use 1950's instead of 1950s or FAQ's instead of FAQs. I even saw a NY Times article the other day that had incorrect use of apostrophes!

Actually it is a lot easier to park straight when you back into a spot. I think it might be a European thing as my wife, co-workers and friends all find it quite amusing when I back into spots, whereas growing up it was normal.

+1

This drives me crazy! I'm sure that I see apostrophes misused so much that it sometimes influences my own writing. That bothers me the most. Of course, the worst is when someone tells you that you should have put one in when it didn't belong.

people who correct others for spelling poorly when they too have made spelling errors.

people with bad spelling. i'm not talking about a word or two, i'm talking about those people, that are surprisingly numerous, whose sentences are saturated with errors.

people who use ''proceed'' when they tell stories. i.e.) john proceeded to blah blah blah, etc...

people who use e.g. in place of i.e.

people who bring a bag with 50 balls to the practice green and chip 10 to each pin before picking them up.

guys who pluck their eyebrows and tan excessively. thank god they mostly live in new jersey, i shall never go there again.

1. "Things that annoy me" threads.

Joking.

I don't get annoyed by much. Mostly just stupidity, particularly when someone should know better. If you're a 5 or a 9 index, odds are you don't know as much about the golf swing as you think you should.

"The expert golfer has maximum time to make minimal compensations. The poorer player has minimal time to make maximum compensations." - And no, I'm not Mac. Please do not PM me about it. I just think he is a crazy MFer and we could all use a little more crazy sometimes.

New one today, Doctors who can't keep appointment times. If I make a reservation at a restaurant and when I get there, they tell me it's going to be 30 a 30 minute wait, would I find that acceptable? Hell no!!!! Yet whenever I visit a doctor, there's always a wait.

I was the first appointment for the day this morning and still had to wait 25 minutes for the doctor to get in. And you wonder why they're backed up at the end of the day. Why did we ever deem that acceptable? They're still a business providing a service.

Also have to love the sign in the office that says "There will be a $25 charged for all no-shows or canceled appointments less than 48 hours." When can I start charging them for the amount of time I have to wait after my appointment? /end rant

I was particularly annoyed today at Braum's (Ice cream place that also has a little grocery---they spell it Braum's with the apostrophe) There are two lines at Braum's---those just getting scoops and those getting items other than scoops of ice cream.

I walked into the store and quickly picked up a half gallon of ice cream and a jar of caramel topping. I then stood in line behind two people that were ordering together. They spent over fifteen minutes trying to decide what they wanted, changing their orders, and trying samples of ice cream (oblivious to the world). Meanwhile, seven other people had gone through the ice cream scoop only line and were already enjoying their cones.

If you are in line at a fast-food establishment, be prepared to order and have your wallet in hand. It does not matter if you don't order the perfect meal, just order quickly.

    • However, have you ever considered using small summer houses for such setups? They offer a great solution for creating dedicated practice areas, especially for an affluent audience looking to enhance their outdoor living space.
    • I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group. Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left. Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.

    • Honestly, unless there's something about that rough there that makes it abnormally penal or a lost ball likely, this might be the play. I don't know how the mystrategy cone works, but per LSW, you don't use every shot for your shot zones. In that scatter plot, you have no balls in the bunker, and 1 in the penalty area. The median outcome seems to be a 50 yard pitch. Even if you aren't great from 50 yards, you're better off there than in a fairway bunker or the penalty area on the right of the fairway. It could also be a strategy you keep in your back pocket if you need to make up ground. Maybe this is a higher average score with driver, but better chance at a birdie. Maybe you are hitting your driver well and feel comfortable with letting one rip.  I get not wanting to wait and not wanting to endanger people on the tee, but in a tournament, I think I value playing for score more than waiting. I don't value that over hurting people, but you can always yell fore 😆 Only thing I would say is I'm not sure whether that cone is the best representation of the strategy (see my comment above about LSW's shot zones). To me, it looks like a 4 iron where you're aiming closer to the bunker might be the play. You have a lot of shots out to the right and only a few to the left. Obviously, I don't know where you are aiming (and this is a limitation of MyStrategy), but it seems like most of your 4 iron shots are right. You have 2 in the bunker but aiming a bit closer to the bunker won't bring more of your shots into the bunker. It does bring a few away from the penalty area on the right.  This could also depend on how severe the penalties are for missing the green. Do you need to be closer to avoid issues around the green?  It's not a bad strategy to hit 6 iron off the tee, be in the fairway, and have 150ish in. I'm probably overthinking this.
