I'm thinking of buying from nickentgolfpreowned.com. Anyone done this before?

Hi All.

I'm in the market to buy some nickent clubs. ( 3dx red irons, used, regular flex )
And by using google, I've just found this website on the internet, presumably run by Nickent themselves.
=> www.nickentgolfpreowned.com

They claim to be selling used nickent clubs, and factory returns.
Sounds great! But I've never heard of it before, so am a little hesitant at using them until I can find some information that they are authentic.

So, has anyone heard of this website before?
Any feedback?
Any thoughts?

All thoughts welcome.
Thanks heaps!
Brian

While I can't speak to the authenticity of the site, I'm not too impressed either way. I'm a big Nickent fan, and I'm always hunting for Nickent deals -- To just spill it out there with no tact whatsoever, their prices seem to suck pretty vigorously.

Hell, I got my 3DX HI set for 60 bucks at a quality that the site is offering up at 300.

That said, they might be good for more available selection? (For example, I've been hunting for some 4DX Pros for a while... can be hard to track down, at least for lefties.)

I'm doubting anyone is in the market for fake Nickent clubs, so I wouldn't be too terribly worried on that account.

Random weirdness: They're offering lefty ARC irons, yet the specs say they're not made in lefties. Roo?

EDIT: Almost forgot -- Rock Bottom Golf usually has a relatively good selection of Nickents. Don't know exactly what you're looking for, but I think they have 4DX clubs in every category on both sides of the ball.

Nickent no longer exists. They went out of business. This - from the whois information - appears to be some guy or small group hoping to cash in. I doubt it's Nickent at all.

I too am a Nickent Junkie, but as time goes buy it's becoming increasingly hard to find, especially in new condition. Rockbottom Golf and Golfio have the best deals on Nickent but are frequently sold out. I'd be very cautious of this website...

Love my Nickent 4DX Evolver. However, the company went bankrupt last year. The Nickentpreowned.com website sure has the look & feel of the old Nickent website, but in no way would I order from it...buyer beware. You'll find lots of deals on Ebay or Rockbottomgolf though for new Nickent equipment.

Hi Guys
Thanks for the replies!

Travtex, good spotting on the LH pro iron thing.
Its what got me suspicious of the site to start with. I'm wanting to buy a 50deg nickent arc wedge, so i looked at what they had.
The specs listed for the arc wedges seem incorrect? (hybrid specs?) But that could just be a mistake...
ie,
=> http://www.nickentgolfpreowned.com/c...key=6000-ARCW-
But I also noticed they had LH arc wedges for sale.
And the nickent site itself says LH arc wedges do not exist!
=> http://www.nickentgolf.net/newweb/pr...ge-specs.shtml
that sounds too wierd....

What I'm after are some RH
- 3DX red irons, regular flex.
- ARC 50deg and 56deg wedges.

I'm from New Zealand where clubs are very expensive. ( eg 3dx reds selling for ~$650us, on special! )
Much better to order in from the states. :)
This site is now looking too dodgie.
Rock bottom are great, but seem to be sold out of what I'm after which is a shame, but no worries.
I'm going to go back to ebay, I'm sure I'll find what I'm after there. :)

Thanks guys!
Brian

I play the 3DX Hybrid Iron set, and I'd certainly recommend them for the price. Haven't hit the reds, so can't compare. Though if you were to go with the HI's, get ready to regularly explain why you have a 10i, why your 5i goes 200 yards, etc. The lofts are... creative, but I do like the breakdown on the short side of the set.

Agree with Eric....Nickent went out of business a while ago. This site looks to be legit, but is for sure new. I looked all over the net before I bought my 4DX driver for info on Nickent and never came across this site. That was about 2 months ago. I will say I love my driver and it's a shame that they went out of business, they did make good stuff. But yes this may be a new site "not Nickent" that's looking to cash in on the limited availability of their clubs these days. Or it could be, some research might show, that Nickent is trying to fund a comeback. Likely not but.....

  • 1 month later...

has anyone actually made an order off this site?

I tried yesterday but when I went to register for an account (you need to in order to checkout) I wasn't able to. It said 'unable to add user'...

The 1-888-NICKENT number doesn't work and I tried Emailing their customer service and got an unable to deliver notification

I NEED a 4DX Pro 4-Iron

Nickent is bankrupt (and i'd assume their preowned side is out of commission as well). If it's an individual club you need, you're probably stuck searching Ebay. you may be able to find big clearance deals out there though on Nickent equipment from online sellers (i.e. why replace a single iron when you can get a whole set for $200 or less!). Good luck.

DO NOT USE cheapgolfbagstore .com for any golf equipment. The website is very dodgy. I purchased a new staff bag through these guys and they took $100 more from my account then they were meant too! Would not reply to emails and all products are sent from Beijing- so I wouldn't be surprised if they are fakes!

Be aware- stick away from cheap golf bag store website altogether. Please share with others so no one else is ripped off by these people!

Nickent has reemerged as a store brand for Golf Galaxy. I started noticing Nickent fairway woods and hybrids in GG about 18 months ago.

Focus, connect and follow through!

    • Day 12: Same as last couple days, but focus was on recentering aspect of flow. When I recenter earlier I make decent contact most swings but if I recenter late or not at all it’s a roll of the dice.
    • A couple of things.  Some of the clubs in your bag should be dropped immediately.  A 2-iron for example with what obviously seems to be a lower swing speed or possibly not great swing yet is a definite no-no.  To be hitting that 120-140 yards, which I assume includes run, is a sign that you are not getting the ball airborne at the correct angle to maximise distance.  The reason your 3 and 5 hybrid are going the same distance is that your launch angle is better with the 5.  Loft is your friend. Ideally I would suggest going to a golf or sporting store where you can hit golf balls on a simulator without being disturbed to understand your club carry distances and hopefully swing speed.  With that information we can definitely guide you better.
    • Let us be clear, unless you have proof of cheating, you just sound like a case of sour grapes.  In our club we have a guy who won club titles for many years.  Yes, he was a low single digit handicapper, but there have been quite a few others who played at his level.  Yet his mental strength and experience helped him win in many years when he shouldn't have.  Did he sandbag.  DEFINITELY NOT.  Did he just minimize his mistakes and pull out shots as and when needed.  Definitely.
    • Day 111 - Worked on my grip and higher hands in the backswing. Full swings with the PRGR.
    • First off please forgive me if this is not a proper post or not in the proper location, still learning the ropes around here. Second, it's important that I mention I am very new to the game with only about 10 rounds of golf under my belt, most being 9 holes. Only this year have I started playing 18. That being said, I am hooked, love the game and am very eager to learn and improve. To give you an idea of my skill, the last 2 18 rounds I played were 110 and 105. Not great at all, however I am slowly improving as I learn. Had been having bad slicing issues with the driver and hybrids but after playing some more and hitting the range, I've been able to improve on that quite a bit and have been hitting more straight on average. Irons have always come easier to me as far as hitting straight for some reason. Wedges have needed a lot of improvement, but I practice chipping about 20-30 mins about 3-5 times a week and that's helped a lot. Today I went to the range and started to note down some distance data, mind you I am averaging the distances based off my best guess compared to the distance markers on the range. I do not currently own a range finder or tracker. From reading some similar posts I do understand that filling gaps is ideal, but I am having a some issues figuring out those gaps and understanding which clubs to keep and remove as some gaps are minimal between clubs. Below is an image of the chart I put together showing the clubs and average distances I've been hitting and power applied. For some reason I am hitting my hybrids around the same distances and I am not sure why. Wondering if one of them should be removed. I didn't notice a huge loft difference either. The irons I have are hand me downs from my grandfather and after playing with them a bit, I feel like they're just not giving me what could potentially be there. The feel is a bit hard/harsh and underwhelming if that makes sense and I can't seem to get decent distances from them. Wondering if I should be looking to invest in some more updated irons and if those should be muscle backs or cavity backs? My knowledge here is minimal. I have never played with modern fairway woods, only the classic clubs that are actually wood and much smaller than modern clubs. I recently removed the 4 and 5 woods from my bag as I was never using them and I don't hit them very well or very far. Wondering if I should look into some more modern fairway wood options? I appreciate any feedback or advice anyone is willing to give, please forgive my lack of knowledge. I am eager to learn! Thank you.
