  1. 1. What will be Tiger's legacy?

Seeing how the past year has been for him, do you think we've seen the end of his dominance, or do you think he's talented and determined enough to overcome this adversity and be the true #1 again?

He's only 34 years old, if his health holds up, he can play golf for many years to come. I think we've seen his best years, but I'm sure he will get many chances to surpass Jack yet, which is his main goal.

He could retire tomorrow and still be one of the best golfers ever to walk this earth. The last months' events does not erase his last 15 years.

One of the issues facing him is there are a LOT of good players out there. Phil/VJ/Els are not the only competition these days. I think it is going to be harder for ANYBODY to dominate going forward.

Tiger has already showed chinks in his armor before this all happened.

The greatest player ever. Still plenty left in him too.

One day he'll be doing the honorary tee off at the Masters.

If Tiger got hit by a truck today, he'd be the greatest competitor ever, even though Nicklaus' record might stand for a while, so I voted that way.

Will Tiger go on to dominate again? Harder question. Some athletes mature fast, peak, and blow out like a candle. Others get better past middle age. Tiger has put more wear and tear on his body than, say, Kenny Perry who has peaked at close to 50, but Tiger's not in a wheelchair yet. But, I think it is hard to stay on top for more than 15 years or so, both for physical, psychological and statistical reasons. If that is correct, Tiger has already used up most of his best years, but can be a force on the tour for a long time to come.

Some of what has been happening to Tiger this year is psychological and some physical--though why Tiger should be out of shape or practice I can't figure out, since he has had nothing to do for 6 months except to attend sex addiction programs and practice his golf.

... since he has had nothing to do for 6 months except to attend sex addiction programs and practice his golf.

He has had a physical injury recovery to his head to deal with as well. The neck pain he was reported to be dealing with might be related to that.

I don't know the facts, I also don't know what he will do for the next ten years - golf related or not. Beyond that I'll reserve comment.

I think even if he walked away from the game right now, he still has to be considered as the greatest player ever. Without mentioning his pro achievments, he also has three strait US Jr Am's and 3 strait US am's to his credit. All done in consecutive years. He nuked his generation of players out of existance.

Geez, the guy comes in 4th in the Masters, misses a cut, and then WDs due to injury and you would think he just died by looking at this forum. He will be the greatest golfer ever to have played. If anyone can fix their swing, it's Tiger Woods. It's a neck injury, and we don't know how major or minor it is. For all we know he could have a pinched nerve and all he would need is some rest for a few weeks.

I'm glad someone mentioned his 3 straight jr am's followed by 3 US am's. As impressive as his pro career has been I am still blown away by this feat. IMHO Tiger will be back to cement his legacy as the greatest pro ever.

Or he could wake up paralyzed tomorrow morning. When it comes to the neck, anything is possible.

Exactly!!! Like comon people. Give it time. Tiger isn't the only pro athlete in history to have skeletons in the closet to then go ahead and have a fantastic legacy in their respective sport. Heck, Mr. legend JFK was messing with many, and I mean MANY woman in the oval office during his tenure as president. The only difference then to now? The media and it's perverse coverage of people's "transgressions." Who is everyone fooling? The old timers had their share of "skeletons" (The only thing that save them was far less "media" cocerage) and "others today" in powerful athletic positions have their own skeletons to...you'll be naive to not believe that.

Moral of the story, Tiger's "legacy" as an athlete will still go down in history.
Maybe it's roids that are causing all these injuries?

If you look at roids in baseball, it helped MANY avoid, mask or quickly recover from injury. Its the ones who didn't do roids who got the injury shaft.

    • However, have you ever considered using small summer houses for such setups? They offer a great solution for creating dedicated practice areas, especially for an affluent audience looking to enhance their outdoor living space.
    • I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group. Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left. Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.
