I get most golf magazines and normally when they do a review they only look at equipment over $100.

Has anyone come across a review of putters in the $100 and under range ?
Or can anyone recommend a good putter in that range ? Preferably blade style.
Right now I am using an Odyssey 2 ball putter I got last year (Street price $100). I feel very confident with it on putts under 6 foot however have no distance control with it on lag putts. Typically either leave it 10 foot short or blow it by 10 feet. The just feels kind of light for the long putts. When I strike it firm it seems sometimes I even bounce the ball if that makes sense. I was much better with my old Fila blade style putter on long lags. So I am looking for a putter to get the best of both worlds (short and long putts).

Golf Magazine had good reviews on the Cleveland Classic Blade 4 $70 but that was the only blade they reviewed under $100. Looking for other options to compare it to.

can't beat the Ping Karsten series Anser for $80-90. Great putter at any price in my opinion.

Adams A7 is a set of putters, each under $100. Most of them are blade putters. I'm considering the 60 myself.

I haven't read any reviews for putters under $100 either..... but I will second this review. If you are looking for a milled face blade putter, it's hard to beat the Cleveland Classic series. An excellent value for $70. If you are looking for an insert face, the Odyssey White Hot XG series is good. I played the #1 and #7 and liked them both very much. Another option and good value for under $100 is the Ping Karsten series.

Not sure on the review part, but I can say that in my experience, this is the best sub $100 putter I have ever used.

Mizuno Bettinardi BC1 - $99

I'll echo that. I actually replaced my old scotty cameron with the Bettinardi and I have nothing but great things to say about this putter. at $99, its a steal. Actually surprised its not sold out yet.

I have bee using a Rife Mr. Beasley for a few months now, and I find it incredible. I have taken my putting game from a 2.44 putting average to a 2.1, with a few rounds as low as 1.9 per hole. I find great confidence in this putter. The balls rolls smooth from the face, it is great from 30 ft out, and deadly from within 6 ft IMHO. You can easily find the Aussie version in the market for about $100 the only difference is the Aussie is a plumbers neck vs. a double bend.

Another favorite of mine is the Itsy Bitsy spide from TM....you can find them for $100 new and around $70 used in great shape. I like the balanced feel of this putter, as well as the alignment aids. Coming from the 2-ball, take a look at this putter, you make find it to fit your bill.

I use to be a huge fan of the 2-ball series, but i always found them to be tooooo short! The TM Itsy Bitsy provided a similar alignment aid, but much better control and distance.

Good luck!
It's the indian, not the arrow! But it sure is nice to have good arrows!!!!!

I have a Cleveland Classics BRZ 4.5 as a backup putter that I absolutely love. Great feel. Also, look for the Mizuno Bettinardi BC series and Nike Unitized series which are each retailing for $100 currently. Both fantastic putters.

Thanks guys for the quick feedback. I plan to make a trip to Golf Galaxy tomorrow for lunch and check out some of the ones mentioned above. I know they sell all brands there.

Out of curiosity if I traded my 2 ball Odyssey in, about how much would I expect to get for it ? Its in really good shape. Only about 10 rounds of play on it. A couple small minor dings I got when I forgot to put the headcover back in and it rattled against other clubs in the bag. No dings on the clubface though.

Another option is to pick up last year's model of one of the $100+ putters at one of the discounters. I snagged my Odyssey from Rockbottomgolf for $80 about a month ago. The local shops still have it at $160.

Another shout out for the Cleveland Classic. I use a #1 blade style and absolutely love it. I had the same issue with lagging and the 2 ball(used one for 8 years). I could nail the middle from around 10 feet in, but the long ones always came up short. My handicap has dropped 2 points using the blade. Could be just practice, but the confidence I have in the Classic helps alot.

In my  Warbird Hot stand bag:

 NP2 3H,  DCI 990 4-PW,  Forged + 54/12,  RAC 58/8,

Classic #1,  NXT Tour or  Burner TP

Do you have the BRZ or the original? I have the BRZ, but I like the original one without the insert a little better.

I have the original satin finish. I have looked at the BRZ many times, but now I don't want to use a putter with an insert. I wish that would make the BRZ without.

    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
    • Day 96 (18 Mar 24) - Continued work with the Divot Board with the GW and hard foam balls.  Focused on small target/small miss…setup to hit target about 30yds out - success if it hit within 6’ circle of target, fail if outside.  Had decent success averaging about 3 out of 4 (hitting in groups of four).
