Well I have been thinking about aquiriring a Scotty Cameron Circa '62

Your opinions please.
What is in my Bag

Very nice putters. Great feel. SC quality of course.

There is a downside to this line. I've read a few things here and in other forums about how the gun blue finish can deteriorate especially if you're not very careful with the maintenance. They need to oiled after each use, and when it's wet need to be wiped down and cleaned after each and every putt. Some of the fertilisers used on greens can eat through the finish as well.

You just need to be sure that you are going to look after it and then you'll have a great putter.

The post I read mentioned that he eventually got the putter re-finished by the Custom Shop with the Pro Platinum finish - and it looks really good like that as well.

There is a superb review by Donald McKenzie, posted June 2, 2006, in the review section of this site, that should prove most helpful to you. Also, if you browse through the golf equiptment section of the Forum, you will find a couple of threads that discuss in great length the Circa 62 putters. Good luck.

I should be getting my Circa '62 #3 any day now. I'll post a reply after I get it on my thoughts. I've also heard about the need to care for the putter. As long as you do that I'm sure it will be fine.

I'm selling mine if anyone wants it. I used it for all of one round. I just don't dig the length. It's brand new (except that one round). It's a #1. Headcover and repair tool included, of course. I still have the box, too, I believe.

I've had my #3 for a couple months now and love it. (Can you tell my my avatar?)

Great balance and feel to it. It isn't forgiving like my old Two-Ball, but I think this is the best 'Newport/Anser 2' style putter on the market right now.

Fairways and Greens.

True, but I did hole a couple long putts including an 80 footer.

I had 29 putts in my last round with no three putts. I missed a couple shorter ones but made a few in the 20-25 foot range. I've had other 'things' going on during my transition to the Circa 62 as well.

Fairways and Greens.
