I get a kick out of people who like to make themselves feel more important by knocking other folks' ideas. This is a good thread, and there were many good ideas in the answers that many of us didn't think of! Pay no attention to the idiot who knocked the thread. Every forum has it's trolls, who may as well go around with a sign on their forehead that says, "Look - I'm stupid!"
I washed my irons and grips for the second time this year - and it's only June!?! I put a little Tide stain release (doesn't harm the grips or the original paintfills) and use a soft brush - another bucket with clean water for a quick rinse, then a wipe and voila - good for another month.
I really don't care what other people do before during and after their shot, as long as they're obeying etiquette (like avoiding slow play). People who play sports (like golf almost is) long enoug tend to develop their own subtle supersitions.
