I was plugging along today and my short game was really killing me. I was playing a Pro V1 and was 8 over through 7 holes. On the way to the 8th tee I saw a ball in the weeds. It was a Titleist NXT with a bad cart path mark on it. I dont know why but I decided what the heck and put it in play. I was one over par the last 11 holes and finished with an 81. I liked the distance of the ball but didnt like that there was seemingly no check. I hit past/over a few holes but was getting up and down, including a sandy par. Anyone know a ball that is similar feel but a bit more check. I may be done with $45/doz balls.

Try the Nike One Tour balls. They play similar to the ProVs in the short game. High spinning balls. I've only played the Nike One Tour ball, but am thinking of trying the Nike One Tour D ball to get a little more distance. The Nike One Tour ball is definately short.

What I Play:

ok i wasnt sure because the pro v1x is harder to hit imo but if you hit it consistently its better IMO. i would look into bridgestone, i played a bridgestone e5 for about a week with the same ball. i usually play between 18 and 36 a day. the ball held up well despite because smashed around off the tee and torn apart by vokey wedges. i say the e5 because it is the last ball in the e series that uses urethane which will give you the spin you want. if you dont want to go with the e series the 330's are nice too. i think that should be what your looking for

Srixon Trispeed w 3 orange dots (cause its all about makin 3's !! hahaha!!...seriously though...)

Those are great balls - but they're almost too long off the irons - you really gotta watch your club selection.

Should I stop putting 9 dots on my ball?

Are you guys gaming the 2010 version? If so, have you also tried the Trispeed Tour as well?
