I have the Callaway X20s and it came with a SW (55 degree) that I don't use (I have a Vokey 56 SW and 60 LW). My question is has anyone had any luck, or is it even possible, bending the SW to say 50-52 to be more of a Gap Wedge? I would just buy a X20 GW/AW but the only ones I see online are graphite and I have steel. Anyone have any advice?

I know the bounce and such would be affected, but being a stock X20 SW I can't imagine it'd be the end of the world...

If you already have two Vokeys, get a Vokey GW.

Warning... Warning... I bought an X20 AW last season, and it was a pain. It had 50* loft and 11* bounce, and I had a terrible time getting consistent distance on it. I ranged anywhere from 70 to 100 yds. on full shots.

I switched over to the CG14 at Christmas, and it have been really pleased with it. Used it to set up my scramble team with three short birdie putts a couple of weeks ago. The lower bounce and smaller head makes all the difference.

If you get a Vokey, you'll probably be looking at a 50* or a 52*. Your X20 PW is 45.07, so you need to decide if you want a 5- or 7* gap between your PW and GW. Of course, best thing to do is check the distance difference between a Vokey GW and both your 56* and the X20 PW.

If you go 52-56-60 and settle for the 7* PW-GW gap, you might be able to shave a few yards off the PW by choking down on it for "in between" shots.

Focus, connect and follow through!

Callaways are stainless steel, and bending 3 degrees is a chancy........ your getting close to were stainless likes to break. ( depending on the grade of stainless)

What is the stock loft now?
