Biggest front 9 / back 9 disparity? - Page 4

33/55 and the back nine is the much "easier" nine (if you can hit a golf ball).

On the back nine there are 3 holes where there is a good possibility of hitting the ball in the water (if you suck) and 3 more holes where it's almost impossible to hit it badly enough to find the water. I probably broke a course record by hitting it in the water on all 6 holes where it's possible and in the woods on 2 of the other holes.

Went home and hit 100 balls in the yard and never hit a single shot as badly as any I hit on that back nine (go figure).

My front/back 9 scores are usually pretty consistent.  Where it comes off the tracks looks more like this:

Holes 1-6 played at +8

Holes 7 - 15 played at +2

Holes 16-18 played at +5

Always have a really nice stretch of about 9 holes sandwiched between a crappy start and finish.  Sigh ... it's always something.

The one that sticks out in my mind was 42 - 32 in a tournament during my high school days. Started the round bogey - bogey - double. Started the back nine eagle - birdie - birdie.

As far as disparities going the other way, I've blocked out those painful memories.
