I am trying to find a driver that suits me, my current driver is ok, but I hit it way too high... I am not able to get a proper fitting in my area so I have been doing a lot of online fitting. I was just looking at the Taylormade site and they recommended an 9.5 * r9 with the Fujikura Motore 65g shaft.

My question is does the shaft and loft make a big difference on this driver considering how adjustable it is?

For example, if I had a 10.5* wouldn't I be able to adjust it enough to make it hit like a 9.5*?

Thanks!

I don't trust the TM online fitting thing. Just for fun, I kept changing the parameters and it was always the same outcome. As far as I can recall, the shaft is what mostly determines the height of the flight path. I believe that shaft is a low kick point shaft which means higher trajectory.

Interesting thanks...

I am able to get it to recommend a 9.5* or an 8.5* with slight yardage changes... My big concern is how high I hit the ball now so that is why I was asking about the shaft and the adjustments, etc... hoping I could find a combination that would work for me... Obviously I would want to hit the driver before buying, my big problem here is that the only places that I can really tryout drivers are indoors into a net, so that helps a bit, but it doesn't really get me too excited about a particular driver when I can't see the ball landing, etc...

Correct, prolaunch blue has a low kick point which will aid in getting the ball higher. If you want a lower, piercing trajectory, replace your shaft with Prolaunch Red.

Whether 9.5 or 10.5, its not going to make a huge difference if your shots are going up high. 9.5* isn't going to drop your trajectory down. I'd suggest either looking at your swing to see whats causing the high ball flight or replace the shaft with a high kickpoint shaft.

Thanks, I do like the HiBore, so a new shaft might just be the answer... I am actually going to get my irons fit next week, they do not currently have a launch monitor where I am going but I will chat with them about shaft options for the driver...

swing and shaft
shaft will help aid your swing flaw but not correct it

but if you wish to spend money on a new club because you are bored or yours...i get it....get a new driver
but ensure you have the right shaft
i would stay away from 8.5 for sure

higher the loft the easier it is to control the outcome of your shot
tiger even uses (or did use) a 10º i think
finding the right shaft can be tough though
i have been through a few and yet to find the "perfect" one - i make do with what i have now though
