I have some grips I have been using about 6 months. Got some new irons, would like to keep the grips, its there a way I could get them off and move them to the new set without ruining them?

We used to use a special tool that looked like a big syringe and you would inject solvent under the grip and just slide them off. You may want to look at a clubmaker catalog and see what is available.

It can be done if the grips are not too old. I have seen that syringe technique but the grip was old, so it just exploded all over the place.

You can use air to remove and install, need an air compressor and about 90-100lbs of pressure

Tried it before... not worth the trouble. Just buy new ones.

you're actually better off just buying new ones.

I don't agree with time to replace after 6 months. Also the grips are new decade muti's, I DID put them on myself also. They aren't exactly cheap grips, which is why they last way past 6 months. I used air to remove my old ones when I put these on, but some of them were really on good and ended up getting bubbles blown in them, so I was looking for a way to avoid that.

If you put a tube/pipe over the grip when you blow them off you won't have any bubbles- Ideally the tube should just fit over the grip- blow till you hear a POP and the grip should come off nice & easy...

My father fitted some new lamkin grips for me this week, he managed to get the 6 month old Ping ID8 grips off and is planning to re-use them so it is doable.

I used to use this to remove grips. As long as they are still pretty new and are a rubber grip (doesn't work with winn) I could get a whole set of grips off with out damaging them. This is a little different than the one I had since it is v shaped. Mine was flat but still uses the same process. Put in grip and spray some grip solvent or mineral spirits in the grip. Work the tool down to the bottom and start twisting and eventually the grip will slide off. Only negative is sometimes some of the tape stayed in the grip so if you didn't get it out the grip was lumpy.

Here's a product that can be used to repair & reuse broken wooden tees found at the course:
