Ok so iv had my irons since late march.... couldn't play them till mid april cause of th snow....ALREADY the 8 and PW hav spots on the face worn down to the bare metal about th size of a nickel..... (other irons(9,7,6) have spots th size of a dime) right where i hit all my shots.... this happened to my old irons as well.... isnt <6 months a little bit early for this type of wear?? Any idea how to stop it? thanks

I think many (?most) "specialty" finishes such as gunmetal, oil-can, etc will wear off the face quickly, esp if you practice a lot at the range -- it has nothing to do with the groove performance, just cosmetics. My Cleveland CG14 wedges and my Oil Can Vokey gap wedge all show this -- I just wish my spots were only dime-sized like yours, as my swing is obviously more sloppy because i'm looking at a quarter or half-dollar spot!

i'm not sure what finish your wegdes are though, and your Mizuno's are probably shiny chrome i'd imagine....so i may be way off base...

      Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.

      I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.

      Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.
