I was looking at some Taylor Made clubs, and read on the shaft that either everything was made and assembled in China, or that the parts were made in China, and assembled in the U.S.A. If this is true, I'll never buy anything from Taylor Made again.

Do you guys know if Ping, Titleist, Callaway, or other high end companies are doing this? I like Ping a lot, and if they still make their stuff in the U.S.A, I'm gonna buy all my clubs from them from now on.

....and it's not just the computer. If you feel that strongly about non-US made goods, you better check the labeling of everything you buy -- all appliances, electronics, clothes, food, furniture.

One of the TV magazines did a feature on a family who tried to eliminate all Chinese imports from their lifestyle. They found it was almost impossible to do so.

why does it matter if the clubs were made in China, japan, africa, or the USA, if they do what they are supposed to do where's the problem? A well made club is a well made club, bottom line.

Yes people, I understand that most of the things we buy are made in foreign compaines, and frankly...it pisses me off. There's nothing I can do about it, I was just wondering if other reputable compaines like Ping or Callaway are doing this now. I'm gonna buy some newer clubs soon, and want to know which ones are made in the U.S.A, and which one's are made in other countries. I understand that it's almost impossible to buy everything made in the U.S.A, but I at least try to buy some products still made in america.

Because I'd rather give my money to companies that still make their products in America than another company who outsources everything to China, or another foreign country.

I'd take my old ass ping Zing 2 fairway woods anyday than a club made in China.

You're not getting my point. I'd rather buy from a company that actually has factory workers in the U.S.A, not just a corperate big shot, rolling in more money because he outsourced to China. Do you get my drift? BTW, nobody has answered my question. What other golf companies are doing this now?

you want to guarantee that the clubs are assembled in the USA, purchase the parts and put them together yourself..otherwise you will never know........

Maybe it's you that needs to "get over it", not everyone else. You'll probably find that almost ALL clubs are made/assembled overseas, just a fact of life. Profit stays in the US so what's your problem?

Of the major club companies, I believe only ping and nicklaus cast thier own heads or make any of their own forgings. Maintaining manufacturing techniques and skills in our home country does matter. I doubt that should have any impact on a purchase decision for most. Encouraging technology like computer operated milling machines, computer modeling techniques etc. is a better response. Outsourcing is a legitimate issue, not everyone who has concerns about this is a racist.

      There are plenty of amazing things people are doing every single day, but if other people don't care about it, nobody is going to notice. LPGA is not popular that popular, so despite the great achievement, is not getting any attention and is going to be forgotten very soon. On the other side, if tiger farts louder than normal we are definitively going to know about it because tiger is popular.

      @StuM when I called the course a couple of months ago they said you can mention that you want to add an extra night to the hotel when you book the package through them and the people who are in charge of the stay and play can handle it, did you ask them about that?

      Though start, bad design. For me.. I would tee it up and hit the biggest club face in the bag that don't airmail the green. Also hit a fade that is a lot easier for me to hit up on the air. 180/190.. it should be a high cut with 3 Wood with a tee 1 inch above the turf.

      I'm on the side of thinking that something is not right here and should be reviewed. Let say that their course rating is pretty low, so their index is higher than it should be. But if they always play at their home course they are probably going to play bad away from home so it should even that advantage out or at least lower it down.  Also you can say that they are amazing players under pressure and very skilled in match play format, but at the end of the day variance and luck is always going to play a big role between 2 players of similar handicap. Let's assume that player A have 75% chance of winning a match over player B that only have 25%, there is no way that a player's skill in match play can make such a difference in a match outcome but I prefer to use a number that is hard to argue. (For me.. 60/40, or 65/35 at most) The odds of winning 21 straight matches with that  generous odds are less than 1% (or 1 in 420). Is this proof that they are "cheating" or something, of course not but is evidence enough to note that something is not right and should be reviewed further.
