Are center-shafted putters more ideal for people want straight-back staright through putting strokes? If not center-shafted than what?

Read the forum thread with the answer from Scotty Cameron.

IMHO - the answer is yes. I used heel shafted putters in the past and discovered that I've much more accuracy on straight putts when I use C/S - and I think I'm straight-back-straight-through kinda guy. Another thing is - for a heel-shafted putter to be good - it has to be good... as stupid as it sounds - if it's not perfectly weighted (like cameron's for example) - you'll see bigger effect on a off-center hit than the center shafted one. It's kind of like comparing blade iron to a cavity back -that concentration of weight far behind hitting surface allows for more stability on off-center hits.... I don't think I ever go back from C/S.

Which center-shafted putters have you tried? Any comment on each of them, if you would.

not too many... I switch my irons and driver at least once per season, but putters stay longer in my bag

I tried : 1. Futura from Cameron - way too "busy" looking down at it, that aluminum-like sound drove me nuts too 2. Taylor Made Monza - liked the balance, but the head was too light for me. Once they came out with the adjustible weight: 3. Taylor Made Corza - love it. look, feel, balance and the fact that I could use my r7's screws and add 20g extra to it... I think it will stay in the bag for a while.

Though I'm primarily a heel-shafted kinda guy, I do have one center-shafted model that I sometimes break out if I'm having a little trouble with alignment. For some reason, occasionally I'll get into an "every putt misses left" rut, and I use a Ping G5i mini-c to get myself out of it. It's really easy to line up, it has a nice balance to it, and the blue insert feels pretty sweet...

For me, sometimes you need to shake things up every once in a while when it comes to putters. For others, I know they like to see the same putter down there for years. Whatever works.
