When's Tiger playing again?

3 weeks to get his putting together, and a course that he's very at home at.His first win of the year is very likely there.

Ditto the Memorial, Pebble Beach, St Andrews...but you'd hope he'd win at Bridgestone get some momentum going.

But yeah, his putting really let him down this week...

I love people doubting Tiger's career - he is going to feed off that. I think people forget that he went 2+ years from his first major to his second and then didn't win after the 2002 US Open until the 2005 British Open. He may or may not win at Whistling Straits, but I don't think anybody here would take a bet that he won't win another one before the end of next year and his history shows that he wins them in chunks.

Yes, this has been the pattern. Tiger has been in funks like his in now in the past and then goes batshit. But for me, im just not interested in just watching him unless he is playing well.

If your personal life is a mess it is hard to play golf well. I expect him to win Majors again next year once the divorce is final and he settles down to his new life. Tiger got me interested in watching golf and playing golf and I am more interested in watching golf on TV when he is contending.

But that's 10 and 5 years ago respectively you're talking about - he's past his prime now and the talent in the field is getting deeper each year.

Too many people expect him to play like he did in 2000-2001...

I understand that, but Tiger is just not an ordinary good golfer. He is one of the best 2 or 3 golfers ever to play the game. Now matter how enticing the young talent coming up is, on their best days they are still not better than Tiger is right now. I dont care to watch him when he isnt playing well, but to expect him not to dominate again at some point is a little premature. He might not go on the ass kicking tirades we have seen from him in the past, but i think we can count on tiger winning 3-5 times a year for the next several years.

Its not that Tiger isn't winning major's, he is not winning anything...and I know I will get some arguement here, but he is not the most gifted talent wise on the tour, and never has been. However, Tiger is probably one of the top 5 athletes (in all sports) in the modern era when it comes to the mental aspects of the game. Where others fault under pressure, he relished it and fed off of it. He did not make the most birdies, but he never made the stupid play or missed the nervy 6 footer for par. He does not have that part of the game , and without it he is in affect human. It would be like taking Phil's short game away, without it he is just a better than average tour pro.

I don't thing Tiger gets that mental armor back until all of the craziness is settled with the wife and children, and hopefully that does not take too long because these are the prime years for him that are getting away.

I dunno. He had 2 weeks to get his putting together after the AT&T; event. He was striking the ball well there and really only needed to get his putting together, and was unable to.

Still, he played well at the British Open and if he continues to improve like he has been a win isn't unlikely at all. Brandon

He's still playing well better than the "average tour pro." He's playing like a top 10 or so tour pro. It's just a shock when you expect him to be playing five ranking slots better than #2 and you find that he's sort of in the middle of a pack. But it's a pretty small pack of pros who are consistently finishing where he has been finishing lately.

From what I've seen, he is getting back, just slowly. I have little doubt that he'll regain his dominance at least once more before the inevitable decline of his career. He will probably never dominate to the degree that he once did, but that was an otherworldly situation.

Past his prime? thats bs, hes in his mid thirties, thats the prime age for pro golfers

Yeah, but i dont watch tiger woods to watch average (or even above average) tour golf. Ill watch the greater hartford open for that. I watch tiger to see him contend for wins.
