I would try regular grips or .580 grips with extra tape wraps before I would try midsize. Going to big is probably worse than to small. Unless you do just one club.

I recently changed to midsize grips and I am beating myself for not doing it sooner. Not only does it feel better on my hands, but I am hitting the ball straighter than ever.

I am 6'3" with large hands, but not super large, and I had to go to an oversize grip with an extra wrap to get it big enough to not have my longest finger tuck under my thumb muscle.

It was one of the best adjustments I've made. After getting the right size grip I really felt I had control over the club.

It is easy enough to go to a shop and try various grips till you get the right one.

yeah, i have mid-size on my woods/hybrids and reg on my irons. The mid-size does feel a lot better to me. I can't honestly say i notice a change in my game. so for me, it's a matter of comfort.

First, it is said that larger grips inhibit flipping the hands at contact. So a larger grip should help produce a more left to right ball flight and less handsy swing.
On your second question I always like my clubs to have the same grips. Most people I play wit do to. But they are your clubs so you can choose.
