Re: What's the furthest you've ever holed out from?In the "Old Days" Titleist would send you a trophy if you made a hole in one using their ball. I was very disappointed to witness a guy hole a par three (I was not in his foursome,) run up and take his cheap ball (for those that remember the brand, it was a Podo -- I saw it) out of the hole and later buy a Titleist and tell the pro he had holed out with it so he would get a trophy from Titleist. I guess there have always been cheaters in our sacred game. But nothing beats the scam (later exposed) of a scramble where two foursomes conspired to win a pickup for a "hole-in-one." The first foursome left a ball in the cup when replacing the flag, then distracted the watcher while a member of the second foursome acted like he hit a shot and then started yelling it went in. The prearranged deal was supposedly that they would sell the truck and split the money, but fortunately one of them had a guilty conscience and fessed up about the scam getting those two groups banned from the event -- at least that is what I was told.
